50 Shades of Gray...Spelling Mistakes?!!!

I do wonder how it caused a baby boom tho, i was bored to tears of it by the time i went to bed deffo not "in the mood" lol

I'm in the minority here :blush: I actually really enjoyed reading all three books, although it was complete drivel :haha: I liked the love story and the fact it had a happy ending!!

xx

Like Grey for instance. Lots of words are spelt differently in America x

ETA: It could be quite confusing because though it's set in America it was written by a British woman

I've written a book set in America and I've spelt words the British way, but I've written American "versions" of words.

Does that make sense?

For example I've written "colour", (rather than "color"), but I've written "garbage" or "trash" rather than "rubbish".

It's hard to know the best approach when setting a book abroad how to tackle words and spellings.

As for 50 shades of gray (grey? :p) nothing on this earth would entice me to read it lol.
I've read Twi-shite though and it really is horrifically bad.

I hated them, it's a bit scary something so bad got published. All that nonsense about her biting her lip and his trousers hanging from his hips........where else were they meant to hang from? His nose?

LOL :lol:

Didn't she self publish?

I love the fact it's caused my local Asda to dedicate a section of the book aisle to 'mummy porn'. I saw a woman walk away from it with an armful of books the other day. Quiet night in I suppose!

Thought this would be good to post in here give everyone a laugh :haha:
FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view) - By Pam Ayres of course..

The missus bought a Paperback,
down Shepton Mallet way,
I had a look inside her bag;
... T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey".
Well I just left her to it,
And at ten I went to bed.
An hour later she appeared;
The sight filled me with dread...
In her left she held a rope;
And in her right a whip!
She threw them down upon the floor,
And then began to strip.
Well fifty years or so ago;
I might have had a peek;
But Mabel hasn't weathered well;
She's eighty four next week!!
Watching Mabel bump and grind;
Could not have been much grimmer.
And things then went from bad to worse;
She toppled off her Zimmer!
She struggled back upon her feet;
A couple minutes later;
She put her teeth back in and said
I am a dominater !!
Now if you knew our Mabel,
You'd see just why I spluttered,
I'd spent two months in traction
For the last complaint I'd uttered.
She stood there nude and naked
Bent forward just a bit
I went to hold her, sensual like
and stood on her left tit!
Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;
My god what had I done!?
She moaned and groaned then shouted out:
"Step on the other one"!!
Well readers, I can't tell no more;
About what occurred that day.
Suffice to say my jet black hair,
Turned fifty shades of grey

I couldn't even finish the book it was horribe!

Hahaha, I did read the quickly but they were not good.

Surprise no one has been biting their bottom lip :haha:

I was just curious as to who the hell says " Oh Please " during sex.
And what kinda freaky ass virgin takes pipe in such an extreme manner.

Haha, I'm so glad I didn't bother reading them - spelling mistakes would have just made me so mad!

I read the first book almost a year ago, and left the other two, still unread, on the shelf in the toilet... they weren't picked up again till I moved out of FOB's two weeks ago. They are now all three stashed under my bed and I've no doubt they won't see the light of day again till next time I move house....
