I know i should really post this in the weaning section but there seems to be more traffic here so i'll do it here :)
Well my lo is 5months old this week and I was just wondering other parents whom have started their lo on spoonfeeds at this age, how much and what does your baby eat?
Lo has been having a bit of food for about 3wks now. x

itll be moved anyway as soon as admin see it lol :)

rio started having porridge at 4 months, by 5 months he was having porridge plus pureed fruit or veg, and at 6 months we added 3 meals, and introduced meat and yogurts etc.
he is 8 months now and refuses to be spoon fed so we are 99% finger foods (I help with yogurts)

We started food at 23 weeks + 5 days. Straight into BLW though. No spoon feeding.

Thanks girls, with the BLW have you any tips? What's the best foods etc? How much food?

The beauty of BLW is that baby will only eat when they're ready so there's no worry about whether or not it's too soon. We began at 5.5 months and LO took to it straight away. I started by offering a lot of different foods (a lot of it goes on the floor). We had: steamed veg sticks, toast with hummus (homemade - watch the salt content of shop bought) and fruit (soft fruit like figs and banana). Baby will only suck or gum it at first.

We have had steamed veg, rice cakes, toast, bagel, english muffins, melon, mango (wasn't keen), Readybrek (messy! lol), cucumber sticks, ham, flaked cod. Some days he demolishes everything.Other days he mashes it and throws it on the floor.

So say if I offered my lo a toast finger and he didn't want it should I still offer him some puréed fruit seeing as he has been used to getting a breakfast every morning? Don't want him to be going hungry x
