I know guidelines say babies shouldn't sleep on their tummys but LO keeps rolling in his sleep and ending up on his tummy I've tried rolling him back but he gets upset and ends up rolling back

Do you think he will be ok?

Mine did this too. I remember waking up in the night, panicking and trying to flip her over, but I think I'm right in saying that when they can roll its ok?

SIDS decreases significantly once LO can roll over by him/herself. My LO has been sleeping on her tummy since 5 months because that's when she started rolling onto her tummy. Just make sure there is nothing for LO to be tangled in when he rolls. <3

Once they can roll its ok for them to sleep on their tummies:)

Jack started doing it at 5 months, and I used to wait till he fell asleep and go and turn him over cause I was worried. But he would always roll in the night, so in the end I gave up, and a 2 he still sleeps on his tummy

Also, it helps to remeber that not all that long ago the way to put babies to sleep was on their tummy as they thought laying them on their backs caused SIDS. I put my 8 week old down on her tummy because thats how she prefers to sleep and is the only way she will sleep more than an hour at a time at night and more than a 10 minutes during the day. When i was a baby i was put to sleep on my belly and I am still here. Basically, i am saying dont be freaked out over it.

Yep and since they have realised that tummy sleeping increases the chance of SIDS cot death rates have plummeted....

yeah i think it's fine once they can roll over themselves so don't worry!

my 2 yr old was dong it from 6 mths and sleeping facedown...was such a worry I hardly slept for weeks. she's fine though x

Thanktou ladies it didn't last long as LO hates been on his tummy and when he realised fully what he had done he screamed the house down and didn't go back onto his tummy all night lol
