... Properly!

Hannah has been an absolute nightmare to feed for the last 4 months or so. She used to be ridiculously sicky, and this lasted until about a month or so ago. Also, during this whole time, she wont just relax and drink the bottle. Something bothers her. She is hungry, she grabs her bottle and cries for it when she sees it... But after about 2oz she stops drinking, and just messes with it. Doesnt matter if it has been 2hrs or 5hrs since her last bottle. She usually takes a total of 4oz per bottle, but I have to force it down her. (I dont force it obviously, but keep puting it in her mouth lol)

She is on solids now, but this has been going on longer than that. She is waking up for a bottle once or twice a night (these are the only bottles she drinks without problems) as she is obviously hungry, she only took 3oz of her bedtime bottle last night.

She has ALWAYS been a dribbler when drinking, probably half of what she takes ends up down her chin/neck and she completely soaks a bib every feed (sibce day one, its ridiculous!)

Anyway, Im not sure what to do? She is growing well so clearly iS getting enough, but it is SO frustrating. I hate feeding her. Does is sound like she is bothered/in discomfort? She doesnt cry, but sometimes wriggles about and sort of arches her back.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Have you tried going up a teat size? Babies can get frustrated when the milk isn't coming out fast enough. Other common reasons are thrush or silent reflux (it might be worth googling those to see if symptoms fit) x

I never even thought about teat size! She is on the medium flow teats so maybe fast flow would be better. Will pick some up!
I would be able to see if she had thrush, wouldnt I? My dd2 had it as a newborn and her tongue was white, but dd3s is totally normal looking.
I think I will try going up a teat size first, to see if it makes a difference, thanks :)

Have you tried different bottles? Also DS1 would refuse to drink if it wasn't warm enough - bit of a diva lol even now at almost 3 he likes warm milk before bed and tells me to put it back in microwave if its not warm enough 😂

Mine is like this. Just got him on a bottle a couple weeks ago. He's 6 months old too and previously breastfed. Before that he was a terrible nurser as well.

I haven't figured it out either. He plays and enjoys pulling the bottle in and out of his mouth and hitting at it. The last couple ounces are a pain and I usually rewarm it and try again. He only eats 3-5 oz at a time but wants to eat every two hours.

He's also on a fast flow nipple and zantac.

Has she been checked for tongue tie? The dribbling and messing about on the bottle sound like it.
