6? Weeks, 2 embryos, no fetal poles or yolk sac

I sadly don't often pay much attention to when my period comes. So not sure when my LMP was. I just notice when it doesn't happen. I went into the dr's, they took a bunch of blood, scheduled U/S. The usual initial visit. Came back for U/S on October 16, they saw 2 embryos, no fetal poles or yolk sac evident. My hCG levels were just over 30,000. Which is a good number for twins around 4 or 5 weeks, but I didn't have a period in September. Starting to get worried. So, they took more blood. My numbers dropped to 16,000. So, one of the babies is definitely gone. I have another U/S scheduled for the 23rd. I am really worried that neither will make it. The doctor said it could be vanishing twin syndrome. Hoping and praying one of them makes it. Has anyone else experienced this? I have had some discomfort in my abdomen, but no bleeding or spotting. I have two beautiful children already, and it's breaking my heart to think I might lose this baby.

I'm having twins and my hcg was lower than when I had my daughter. Hopefully your next u/s will show you a bit more x
