Forgive me if this has been asked before.

I went for my 6 weeks appointment, did the ultrasound. We seen the heartbeat and everything. Unfortunately the doctor was super vague and seemed extremely routined, but she had me schedule my best appointment in six weeks.
This just concerns me a bit. It's kind of early going at 6 weeks as it is but I feel like waiting till I'm 12 weeks along is a very long time.

Is this about how long between appointments in first trimester usually?

Thanks!!

My first scan was at 7 weeks, my first midwife appointment was at 13 weeks and my next appointment isn't until 20 weeks. Doesn't bother me though as my last full term pregnancy was pretty uneventful so pretty normal for you to wait until 12 weeks now

The midwife doesn't even see you in the uk until you are 10 weeks, then scan at 12 weeks! Wish I could have a 6 week appointment!

I don't get seen at all by anybody until my 9 week appointment with midwife then a scan at 12 weeks so I'd say it's fairly normal

With DD my first scan was at 9 weeks, but due to my losses I am having early scans now. If I had normal pregnancies then I would have waited until 10 weeks for first appointment.

6 weeks is no length of time in the beginning! As most ladies have said, you were very lucky to have been seen already! :)

I had my scan at 7+6 and wasn't scheduled another one till 19+2

I'm not in the U.K or anything (is that where you live?), so not sure what's normal elsewhere... where I'm from our appointments are every 4 weeks in 1st and 2nd tri - and then every 2 weeks once you reach 32 weeks, I think. I had my first appt. at 6 weeks, one at 9 1/2 weeks, and then my next at 13 weeks. Having had a previous loss, it was very reassuring to my appts. scheduled that way, so I understand your concern. But I know that many doctors don't like to see patients until they reach the 12 mark too. For me, that would be sooo long!

I think it's pretty normal. I had my first scan scheduled for 11 weeks! I had to call the doc and beg for an earlier scan because I was so nervous. So I had a dating scan at 7+6 - where I was bumped up to 8+6, and my next scan is at 12+1 and that's to check for T21 + 18.

Perfectly normal. I can't see where you are from, but here in the states you will typically have a confirmation appointment, then your first doctor appointment at 12 weeks then appointments every 4 weeks from then out. In the UK it's quite different and appointments are even further in between.

I'm in the US, in FL, and I am having a dating scan at 7 weeks. I'm not sure about my next appointment.

With my first child, I had an appointment once a month in addition to all the tests and such. I think a couple of them might have been combined with scans. The last month I had appointments once a week. My cousin is high risk, and when she is pregnant, she has appointments once a week for the entire pregnancy!

It all depends on your doctor here in the states.. Mine saw me at 6 and I saw her at 10. I saw the high risk specialist at 12 and I see my reg OB again at 14 weeks.. So I'm very thankful for the doctor I have. I've already had 3 scans.. I think I'd go crazy any other way.

Hi in in uk had booking in appt at 8 weeks don't see midwife again till 16 weeks have 12 weeks scan on 7th July but that's it you don't see midwife regular until later on :)
