I am around 6 weeks pregnant right now, and since the day I got my bfp at approx. 4 weeks, I have gained 10 lbs!! CRAZY!

I have been feeling extremely bloated and eating like crazy (only way to cure the morning sickness is to eat, I'm finding). I figured I'd be up a few lbs.... but 10?!

Anyone else gain so much right off the bat? I'm already overweight as it is so I'm told I'm only supposed to gain around 15-20 lbs throughout the whole pregnancy. I am already half way there at only 6 weeks! I'm scared! :P

I'm super bloated so I'm hoping that that's why I've gained so much and that it's not "real" weight. I feel like I have been eating pretty well. I'm definitely eating more often but am making way healthier choices than I did before I got pregnant.

Is anyone else gaining weight quick?

I put on a stone! But I've gone down half a stone + now, so at least the extra pigging-out weight is gone!

I'm 9 weeks and gained about 3 pounds, my doctor wants me to gain a pound a week ugh so that's going to be 31 pounds. So not looking forward to that.

Wow, that's a lot in one go. Maybe you are retaining water? And... have you been constipated by any chance?

I was going to ask the same thing!! When a lot of women start taking their prenatals they start getting constipated which adds up as well as retaining fluid. I can literally fluctuate five pounds in a day. I start out at x amount then by the night I am five pounds heavier and am back to the lower weight in the morning. I had a bad problem with having to constantly eat to prevent sickness with my third son and gained quite a bit very quickly but once it passed, I didn't gain all that much in the second trimester. As long as your doc thinks you are ok, I wouldn't worry too much as long as you try to stay conscious of it!! :)

I gained 5 lbs by 5 weeks. Then I lost the 5 lbs + 6 lbs more by 12 weeks. My doctor does not seem worried. I would guess that the gain was primarily water weight (bloat) because my bloat went away around 12 weeks. I was alarmed by the weight loss actually, but most have assured me that it's okay to lose some in the first trimester as long as I'm taking my prenatals (which I do religiously) and am trying to eat throughout the day.

Hope this helps; H&H 9 to you!
