Hiya my ds is 7.5months old and he doesnt want hardly any milk during the day i feed him 8oz at 8am 12pm 4pm and 7pm but he wont drink more than 1-2oz each bottle so i tried cutting out the 12pm bottle and its made no difference BUT ive always given him a midnight bottle that he always has woken up for since he was born and he will drink 9oz and still want more then he will wake at 4-5am and drink another 7-8oz this is the only time he will properly drink but i think its more because hes half asleep. He has 3 meals a day but is quite fussy he will eat his breakfast and will have some lunch but dinner is a struggle because he only ever wants fruit and yoghurt and bread. But i offer his meals at 9am,1pm and 5pm....what am i doing wrong hes a big boy at 22-23lb and very tall this has been going.on for the last two weeks surely hes not getting enough milk

Hi, didn't want to read and run. I'm an utter novice and this type of thing already worries/gets me baffled too. But,

I was advised that they need 'around 'a pint of milk a day when they are up to 3 meals, which is about 20oz ..which I guess he is almost getting in those sleepy feeds alone. Maybe those odds and sods of a few ounces do count. Where you stand with him being 'fussy' on those meals I don't know though, it's hard to judge what is enough, especially when you have a big boy (mine is for his age too) I started doing weaning by offering food then the milk. I've since read that I should probably offer the milk first then the food. I don't know what is correct but have you tried both ways around? I know you are not weaning but calories from milk are easier to pack in that calories from food. (according to HV!)

How has his weight gain been going?

Hi. My lg will be 6 months on the 13(this coming weekend) and she refuses the bottle too, especially during the day. I have been combo feeding since birth and tried cereal yesterday and she refused all she wants now is breast.

So I will be stalking.

Don't let it stress you out! If you are getting uptight about it he will pick up on that!
Monitor his weight - if he is staying around the same/gaining then its not a problem. Let him eat the food he wants - he will change from those choices when his body needs something else.
My brother went through a stage of only eating soup and bread so that's what my mom gave him. Eventually he changed from that.
Does you LO drink water or juice during the day? Just make sure he is getting some kind of fluids.
