My little girl has just gone 7 months old, she's a really good size despite all the problems we've had. From 3 weeks old she's always had 4 bottles a day and wouldn't entertain milk through the night. This last few days she's not seeming very interested in her milk at all. She had been on 4 8oz bottles with solids 3 times a day now she's taking 4oz 3 times a day and downing an 8oz before bed and having her solids and she seems to prefer her solids to her milk. She loves yoghurts so she's still getting dairy and has a good appetite for her food.

Would it be acceptable for her to have 3 bottles a day?

TIA xx

As long as she is having 3 meals a day (what I call fullt weaned) then 3 bottles a day sounds fine to me. Babies need around 16-21oz of milk per day once they are fully weaned. Xxx

As long as she is happy on her solids and she is eating enough then I wouldn't worry. I expect milk starts to taste a bit boring after 7 months compared with all the yummy flavours of food!

She has porridge for breakfast, a savoury and a yoghurt for her dinner and a savoury and dessert for her tea and I reckon in the 3 bottles she would have should would get no less than 16oz, she wolfs her solids down!! To watch her you'd think she never got fed yet with her milk gulps 5oz at breakfast and 4oz at dinner and tea then stops and accepts her solids no problem. If she only has the 2 small bottles through the day she tends to down an 8oz for bed thus giving her 16oz.

Thank you all :)
