7 weeks but measuring 5 weeks

Mmmm, this seems to be a common thing. When I was first scanned at 6wks 3 days (I had no idea how far I was, this is what the sonographer said) the computer she used to calculate dates said I was 5 weeks. But the sonographer over-rode it as she said it wasn't right.

The CRL was 3mm which I panicked at, as everyone said that was too small but I found a site somewhere that is like a guide for U/S techs. It said that the fetal pole grows at about 1mm every day from 6 weeks, so 3mm put me right at 6wks 3 days.

I've just had my second scan at what would have been 9 weeks 2 days based on what the sonographer said, and she was exactly right. I had been 6 wks 3 days at the first scan.

I'm not sure why but everyone who has an early scan seems to be getting told they're no where near as far along as they thought they were. Luckily my sonographer was experienced enough to recognise that the computer was wrong or else I would have gone out of my mind with worry.

Not good news I'm afraid, heart beat has stopped and baby only grown a tiny bit since my last scan 9 days ago. I have booked in for a D&C tomorrow. Best of luck with all your pregnancies, hopefully I'll be back on here again soon!

Hello, I'm 9w+0d pregnant, on 28th Jan early morning (around 4-5am) I got a pain on my right hand side+back side which was terrible...we thought it may be just muscular pain so my husband gave me hot water-bag..but it was going worse hence we went to outpatient Dr. who works on weekend. Dr. identified the urine infection+kidney was inflamed and gave antibiotics..n told tht if i dont feel better in next 24-48 hrs I shd go to hospital..on tht day after having antibiotics I felt 2% better but still it was very painful. I was not able seat, sleep n while breathing I was having pain which I'd never exp in my life. on 2nd day in the eve time we went to emergency and they did U/s twice..n we were shocked..dr told tht my pregnancy doesn't seems viable (tht time i was 8w+4d)..my pregnancy seems 6 weeks and my baby has stopped growing tht point of time n they cldnt find heartbeat.. so according to them it's an early miscarriage..but to confirm again they have asked me to come on second day for an another U/s..n on tht scan they found a little pulsation..but still baby growth is very slow. it seems again miscarriage...how it cld be when my baby heartbeat is thr !!

the report is:
Gestational Sac: Present..20.3 mm
Gestational Sac Volume: 4.4 ml
CRL: 3.4 mm

my que is...does any one has exp the same kind of ?

please help.

Hi hun I'm sorry I don't have experience of this but just wanted to say I am sorry that you are going through this worry. Maybe if when you are on the main forum if you start a new thread for this you will get more replies as at the moment it is posted as a reply to another thread which is long and older so maybe not as many people will see your post and be able to help

If the baby has a HB you have not miscarried. They may be worried about slow growth and the possibility of a mc...I would not jump to any conclusions until you have your next scan. Hopefully you get to see some progress. GL

you will always measure 2 weeks more then what they tell you you are because the 40 weeks is based upon your last menstrual period not the actual day you conceived because they cant tell how far along you are by that yet, so you have nothing to worry about.
