Hey everyone let me give you a little background, around this time last year after trying to have a baby for 2 years naturally all while knowing I had PCOS and then another 3 months on clomid I was sent to a fertility specialist. After testing myself and DH, it was determined he was fine and only my PCOS was the problem. We proceeded with the plan of clomid and one trigger shot with one follicle at 23. We didn't get pregnant and DH got nervous about hormone therapy and risk of multiples, so we put it on hold and I decided to focus on getting healthier. Fast forward to now, a year later. I'm much healthier and we are ready to pick up where we left off on our quest to have a baby.

I called the fertility Dr to find out if we needed to start over and they said we would pick up exactly where we left off. This includes the fact that after the first round of Clomid and the trigger shot my bw that came back showed that my Progesterone was to low to have sustained a pregnancy. So when we pick this up with my next cycle they want me to take 3 extra days of clomid and two trigger shots.

I have two questions about this. How will this help my progesterone and will it increase my chances of having multiples? Identical twins run in my family an paternal in DH's. He is now fully on board with singleton or multiple but would still like to know the odds. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have never heard of this particular protocol before. You should call your doc immediately with these questions. I think that progesterone creme or supplements would be a logical solution to your issue.

I haven't heard of this either, but logically that would increase your chances of multiples...although you would be monitered (I hope) and I doubt your doctor would let you trigger with more than 2 or maybe 3 eggs.

Thank you. I haven't started my next cycle but when I do I'll go in for my base line I plan to ask these questions at that time. I am monitored between days 11 and 13 of my cycle I'll go back in to they can check the number of follicles and size and let me know when to take the trigger. I was just interested whether or not anyone else had experience or success with this method.

i agree with the ladies. This is a rather strange approach. I've only ever taken 4 days on Clomid and one trigger. I also think progesterone cream seems like the most logical solution!
