8 week check

she has a dummy yes, im not convinced im going to get her the injections still, im so unsure what to do i have different people telling me its bad for them and its good for them, i dont bloody know wot to do for the best

I would get them hun - they wouldn't say LO needs them if it wasn't for the best!! Ur choice ultimately tho!!
Can u post what happens when u do go? I got mine next week and kinda want to no what to expect!! Do the check u or is it just for baby?

Personal i say get the injections, take her dmmy to give her if she does have them done.

We have 6weeks check round here but i can only assume that its the same,
They check to see how well they are holding there head, check there hips, sometimes check there eyes, weight maybe length x

Hi hun.

At our 8 week check they first checked Charlie's weight, length and head circumferunce and then checked he could lift his head, checked his eyes, hips, pulse and listened to his heart. She asked if I had any concerns and then asked about me, how I was feeling and then what I was doing about contraception. She gave me some infant paracetamol and then Charlie had his injections. He's got his second lot today actually. Hope it goes well hun! x

thanks everyone, well it went well (ish)

we went in, they couldnt find her on their system lol...good start, so we faffed around for about half an hour with them trying to find her and the HVs just chatting to me and playing with leyley, then the doctor came in, sorted all the computer stuff out lol, then checked her heart, eyes, head, legs, hips, hands etc...basically everything, asked me some questions about the pregnancy / birth, then he went out, the HV took her weight which hasnt gone up since she was 5wks told me i will prob have to supplement her with formula took her length and head, which were both down from 50th centile to 25th, weight has gone from 50th to 9th , then she had her injections...OMFG, i felt like the fucking evil witch lol, she screamed the place down!! even tried to feed her and she was just having none of it, she was doing that trying to cry but cant actually cry cos the cry is too big omg i wanted to kill the HVs lol, anyway, she fed for few mins then we put her in her pram and she calmed right down

but seriously, they were saying see you in a few months for her next ones and i said haha i dont think u will they were all laughing at me

so yeh, it was horrible but shes fine now

Bless her . Molly had her 2nd lot of injections today and gave the nurse the evilest look when she stopped crying! It's for the best though. I found Molly slept really well after sopme Calpol after her 1st jabs so hope you have a good night's sleep x

thanks hun, havent had to give her any calpol yet, shes just fed and slept since we got out lol, been trying to feed her lots so i dont have to put her on formula so shes knocked out now in her basket lol, bless her, hope tonights not too bad but at least i have my trusty calpol

awww yeh i hate injections, it def brought tears to my eyes

im sure she will put some weight on soon
