I am only 8 weeks pregnant and my lower back has been really hurting to the point ive had to take paracetamol (im usually good with bearing pain).
We have been looking after OH's son who is only 1 n a half and holding him kills my back!
When I get up from lying down or stand up, this really hurts too.. but all day I have a constant achey feeling.

Ive no clue what this could be but I def dont think its normal..

anyone any idea?

My doctor has advised me to not lift anymore than 25 lbs...

I know I shouldnt lift heavy stuff but surely that still doesnt explain the pain? :(

I have an awful bad back so you are not alone there hun, tbh my hips, legs & back are worst :( ouch x

Have you been to a doctor or anything? are you able to take something for it? x

Midwife told me this is completely normal as everything is stretching and moving around so muscles will ache and pull etc...
She said if i can't handle the pain to take paracetamol but that is all because ibuprofen has codeine in and is harmful to baby.
If it is real painful i suggest resting up with a luke warm water bottle under you back that helps me. xx
Sorry i am not to much help there lol x

I had horrible back pain in the first trimester, very achey, low down. It is due to the ligaments and tendons stretching, which happens because your body is producing relaxin which allows your uterus etc to stretch :)

Btw, ibuprofen does not contain codeine, they are two separate drugs from different families. Codeine is an opiate, ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, neither are advised in pregnancy as (unlike paracetomol) it can cross the placenta and be harmful to the baby.

I found that that specific type of pain eased off by about 12 weeks :hugs:
