This happened to me and I actually started bleeding right after the scan and miscarried over the following week. It is sad, but the way I chose to look at it was, some seeds grow, and some seeds don't. Only the strongest ones grow, the ones that aren't quite right, stop growing before it goes too far. Miscarriage is incredibly common and it has absolutely nothing to do with anything you have done or not done. Once you feel up to it, you can try again and hopefully your next seed will grow into a healthy baby.
Definitely like your thinking of the seed analogy! Thanks for your advice
glad I could help. It really helped me get things straight in my mind. I'm a bit of a keen gardener and though about how many time I can have two identical seedlings right next to each other and one thrives and the other doesn't. Nature has a way of making sure things are as they are meant to be and nothing we can do can change that.
