Hi all,

I'm currently 9w4d pregnant and throughout the entirety of the pregnancy I have had no symptoms other than a little tiredness!!
This worried me a lot in the beginning so to set my mind at rest my OH arranged a private scan at 7w2d. It was amazing. We saw the baby at 8mm with a strong heartbeat and were told all was well.
I know that the risk of miscarriage decreases greatly after you see a heartbeat but I just can't shake off the fear that something has gone wrong.
I've not put on any weight at the moment and I have no bump at all. I see posts from ladies that look at feel pregnant at far fewer weeks than me and can't help but worry even more.
Our next scan is due on 23rd March and I'm really struggling not to book another private scan. I know it's a waste of money and me and OH are saving like crazy so that I can have the full years maternity leave and still pay bills!!
Any words from you kind ladies would be appreciated. X x

I was just thinking the same thing this morning!!!! I have no symptoms today after a few horrendous days of headaches, tiredness and bloat. I don't feel pregnant at all. I have seen a few ladies on here before say the same thing though so I am trying not to worry. I have a private scan booked for tomorrow so fingers crossed everything will be ok. I'm sure everything will be fine. Chance of m/c drops massively when you have seen the heartbeat xx

Thanks for your reply. It's good to know there are others out there feeling the same. I thinks it's just that OH and I are do excited and want this so badly, that I'm paranoid something is wrong.
Normally I'm quite a sensible and objective person but this pregnancy is knocking that out of me lol x

Im in the same boat as you. Hardly any symptoms through out. Saw baby at 8+5 and now waiting for next scan on the 16th.. Dont feel or look pregnant. Feel completely normal, which is scary. Just keep thinking ill have a mmc :/

I'm completely completely with you on that. I'm so scared that we'll get bad news at our scan.
I know I should just enjoy and appreciate the fact that I might just be one of the lucky ones with no symptoms lol x x

Ladies, the bump that we have at this stage is BLOAT, not the baby. You don't want the bloat LOL. Its uncomfortable. I feel like I am bursting. And my clothes don't fit me anymore !
My friend gave birth last december and she had minimal symptoms. She looked healthy all through her pregnancy.
So don't jump to conclusions!

I wouldnt panic too much.:nope: I had such bad morning sickness with my third pregnancy , i was tired, sore boobs the lot. Then i M/C at 11 weeks. So i dont think it really matters if you have symptoms or not hun O:)

Relax as much as poss and enjoy your pregnancy...theres still time for morning sickness:haha:

I work in a school where 8 of us teachers/parapros are pregnant. Only 2 of us are having any symptoms and/or MS. The others who aren't, laugh at those of us who do; because, they are having smooth sailing. 4 of them are due between now and August :)

Aw, please don't worry Hopefulgirlie, I've heard it's about now that the placenta takes over from the corpus luteum hormones, which can mean any symptoms drop off as you move into the second trimester, so it could be a *really good* sign for you! I also know several women who sailed through their whole pregnancy without many symptoms at all, and also quite a few who didn't put on any weight or show until well into the second trimester. *Please* try not to worry, I'm sure it's all fine and you're just one of the luck ones :)

I think I might follow your example and book in for a private scan, just for peace of mind - that's a really good idea. As you say, it's expensive but if it puts your mind at rest it's worth it (I can totally relate to the panic about whether something's going wrong).

I'm in the same boat, with the few symptoms I had easing off now - but with a bit of a complication... I started spotting quite heavily on Monday, but the doc told me he wouldn't refer me for an earlier scan unless I had more blood or worse pain than a regular period, or unless it carries on into next week. I just want to know *now* if there's a happy little heartbeat, so I think I'm going to shell out for that peace of mind... fingers crossed!

Aw honestly dont worry The chance of mc is so low now uv seen a heartbeat, ur just one of the lucky ones that gets no symptoms. Iv actually been in hospital on a drip 3 times so far from morning sickness as so dehydrated, so the worry of if LO was getting enough nourishment was great for me, so although i totally understand why ur worrying, u honestly dont need to,and i think we will all worry regardlessly. My SIL had no symptoms with either of her pregnancies and she has 2 gorgeous little girls. I know everyone has a story like that, but it should show u that there are many ladies who get no symptoms. Maybe ur body just deals with the hormones better?

Can i ask how much ur private scan was, was it 4d or was it too early for a 4d one at that point?? We werent going to get one, but after how totally amazing my 12 week one was, seeing LO bouncing everywhere and sucking its thumb,im seriously considering another!!

Yup I worry when I get twinges, I worry when I don't. I think we'll all worry throughout, even after the scans I know I'll just start worrying about something else!

Can you speak to your mum and ask her about symptoms. My mum has already said she never had any sickness which has made me feel more relaxed about my lack of sickness.

Hiya, we're all worried about everything! I felt sicky constantly from 6 - 9 weeks and then suddenly started to feel so much better, apparently it is around 9-12 weeks that the placenta takes over. I have no bump at all, occasionally in the evenings a little bloat so dont worry about that! Youve just got to remember the positives, you've had a scan and there was a healthy heartbeat! I posted something about a week ago saying I wanted to book a private scan because I just didnt want to wait for mine to find out that something was wrong, but like you realised it would have been a complete waste of money at such an expensive time anyway! Its now only 5 days until my scan and they last few weeks really have flown by! GL, Im sure everythings fine xx

Thank you everyone for your support. It really does make such a difference to hear your comments and it really helps to put it in perspective a little.
I have spoken to my mum a few times and dye was exactly the same with no symptoms and only put on a 20lbs towards the end of her pregnancies!!
For livinginhope and pcake..... I had my early scan done locally in Colchester at a place called The Baby Scan Studio. They were great. Got me booked in quickly and it cost £85 for a half hour. I got 6 photos and a DVD included in the price.
Because I was only 7w2d my OH couldn't book a 4D scan.... Just the normal one. They do really great package deals for 4d scans but thru suggest that you have them done between 26-30 weeks.
Think I'm going to try and sit tight and wait for my nhs 12 weeks scan though and save the money for later..... Well I'm going to try lol x x

Thanks Hopefulgirlie, I'm booked in for 8am tomorrow! It *is* expensive, but I figure that right now the peace of mind it'll hopefully give me will be invaluable :)

Interesting to hear that your mum had a similar experience... I think I need to ask some questions of mine! The only thing I do know is that early babies run in our family (between a month and six weeks), we're all impatient apparently...

Just out of interest, when did you get your NHS scan date through? Not a peep about mine yet, but I'm guessing that the run of bank holidays might've held things up a bit. Not long to go now till yours, exciting stuff! I bet you can't wait to see your little bean again :) Try not to worry in the meantime, it sounds like everything's ticking along nicely :)

try not to worry. I dnt have any symptoms at the moment. have been up for the toilet during the night, but thats it. Im just thank full as normally ive had terrible sickness

ive not had a scan app in yet. im sure she said it would be about 12/1 weeks. not had my booking app either its the 18th may i think

So glad you got booked in.... And so quick too!! You'll have to post your pics asap!!
My doctor was really on the ball with referring me to the midwife. I got my first call from them at about 6 weeks and they gave me my date there and then. I'd chase it up if I were you.
I'm being looked after by midwives from the Iceni Centre at Colchester Hospital and down to give birth at the new Juno Suite. Apparently this is brand new and has good reviews. I'm sure you can request this as a prenatal team and a birthing place!! X

Thanks Hopefulgirlie, will do! I saw my doc about a month ago, so I think you're right, something should've happened by now.

I've heard good things about the Juno Suite, and in fact it's my preference too... maybe I'll see you there! :) Are you interested in hypnobirthing at all? There was a story in the Standard about it just the other day, they're one of the first hospitals in the UK to offer courses in it: https://www.essexcountystandard.co.uk/news/9003058.Hypnosis_to_ease_the_pain_of_giving_birth/?ref=rss
