I am probably being silly but im going to ask anyway! last night we took the family dog out for a lovely walk, it was a route we have never done before and we drove a different way back which was the bumpiest road you could ever imagine!!! my partner slowed down but even going slow i was up and down everywhere! eventually after i got back home my stomach was aching. So i had a early night and went to sleep. It seems better today although i have had no kicks from her this morning. Have i caused any damage? or is it me being totally stupid!!!!

Its normal to worry about these things, but baby is cushioned really well in your tummy so any bumps and things you feel will not affect baby. The only thing which would cause concern is a major blow to the tummy i.e being kicked etc. A bumpy road will cause no problems, but if your really concerned and havent had any movement by the end of the day i would go and see your gp for reasurrence.

dont worry hun i live down a beaten track and go down it at least twice a day to go to work and home! and baba is still in there alive n kickin :) x

Try a fizzy or sweet drink... ice cold, maybe just needs a prompting this morn :)

Lol, my OH drives over potholes like I'm not bloody pregnant, really gets on my nerves tbh, but I am still getting flutters :) X

I'm a member of a off road club, and being pregnant hasn't stopped me from going on runs with them. These are trails that no car could possibly drive on, even with 4x4 they are hard to get through. Now that I'm due we have been driving on as many bumpy road as we can find to bring LO out, and even that isn't working:haha:

Try not to worry, baby is very well protected in there.

Hi Sarah, your tummy was probably aching because you were tensed up and your body will have been automatically stabilising you, probably stretching muscles you don't use on a normal day :)

I notice an achy tummy when I've had a busier than normal day too. I just put it down to it being tensed up more, probably partly due to me still trying to suck my belly in, even though it would be pretty impossible to suck this bump in, but I do it unconsciously. I'm sure she'll be fine and will wake up and start kicking soon. x
