I ended up in L&D Monday night because at my NST I was contracting every 1 to 5 minutes. Found out in L&D that I'm 2.5 cm dilated. After the first cervix check I started spotting old blood. The spotting size would probably be about a 50 cent size piece maybe a little bigger and since then I've been spotting a little bit. Not bad at all but wearing a pad just incase. They let me go home Tuesday morning because I wasn't progressing. They had me set up a follow up appointment with the ob when I left. Went to that today and still 2.5 cm dilated. She did mention that she could feel baby A's head. So I have a few questions that I didn't think of until I left. Maybe you girls can help me.

Does this mean that I possibly lost my plug without really noticing it?

Has anyone been told baby A's head could be felt? If so how long until you went into labor?

At 34 +1 i started to spot a bit and was having contractions about 5 min apart and was 1.5 cm dilated i had lost my plug about a week before that in a few big chunks so it was obvious for me what it was you may have lost it slower with all the extra discharges it could be tough to tell sometimes. they could feel baby A's head then also.
I went until 35 + 2 until i progressed any further at that appt i was 2.5 cm and the exam irritated everything and was getting harder contractions about 4 min apart until 3 am then my water broke and went into full blown labor.

With my daughter, I went 3 weeks at 2cm dilated and she was at +1 station. My waters never broke. It just depends on your body. It sounds like your close though.

It could have meant that she fell her head was down there when feeling your cervix but not actually touching her head. When my OB did a vaginal ultrasound today to measure my cervix we could see my little girls butt was already way down there but I was completely closed and my cervix was measuring over 3 cm. Hopefully your babies will decided to hold out a little longer so they can have a shorter (or preferably no) nicu stay.

jackie~ I had noticed some discharge about a week ago but just thought it was normal. Never thought it could be my plug though. I'm now thinking it slowly started falling out.

greeneyes~ Sorry to sound uneducated but what would +1 station mean?

ttc~ She did say that she could feel her head. When I asked if she was sure she said "yes she's way down there and ready!" so I'm sure that she could actually feel it. Plus with the amount of discomfort I'm in with her being so low I can tell that she is ready. It's hard to explain but I feel like I can feel her every time I move and basically like she's going to fall out. I know she won't but thats the best way I can explain the feeling.

:happydance: I'm excited and scared all at the same time! I don't think it will be much longer for me.

Her head was fully engaged on my cervix. When I actually went into labor and was fully dilated, I didn't push long cause she was already so low. If they can feel baby a's head, then she is probably 0 to +1 station.

Thank you for explaining that. Makes total sense! I was just thinking today after hearing the ob say what she did that maybe since baby A is so low pushing her out won't take long.
