Yoga and pilates are great core workouts. I personally prefer yoga because it tones your entire body, but you can get a good core workout with pilates in a shorter amount of time. I like the Winsor Pilates series. Many of the workouts are less than 20 minutes.
Toning doesn't really mean anything. You need to lose fat on your tummy then your abs will look more defuned. No point doing a million situps if there's fat hiding your muscles and all your hard work
