Thank you for giving us nervous biddies something to laugh about.

You're almost 17 weeks, already. Are you going to find out your baby's gender? If so, when?

I can't wait to find out. Does your daughter know about your pregnancy? If so, does she have a preference?

My daughter is around your daughter's age, I believe. She's 3.5 years. She doesn't know I'm pregnant.

In September, her preschool's theme for that month was "Families." She learned about family structure and, most importantly, siblings. Since then she's asked for a little sister or an older sister on more than a few occasions.

When I ask her if she'd like a little brother, she answers, simply, "Nope."

Hope is 3 (b-day 06/23) and she knows about the baby. She is SOOOOO excited! She changes her mind every time she's asked if she wants a baby brother or sister, so I really don't think she has a true preference. For a few weeks, she was determined to name the baby Max (of Max & Ruby fame, the Nick Jr. cartoon), then she liked Cash (I assume Johnny Cash), but now she has been stuck on baby Hiney Butt for a while. Wouldn't that be a lovely name?

It's funny how kids get their heart set on something and are so matter of fact.
