Thurs night at (i think) 12dpo curiosity got the better of me and I poas with an OPK after reading they 'could' be used as preggy tests. i got 2 dark lines - the test line was so so dark! I thought wow - pregnant - and tested the next night with FRER and it's a . The hasnt showed yet but i feel like im probably out AGAIN for this month. i just thought id post this as its horrid to get your hopes up so high for them to fall round your feet and to share this so others don't try opk's as hpt's as it leads to disappointment.

Sorry daisydoo - I'm conscious I've just posted about using them in a good way for testing for pg. I hope I didn't offend you if you read this. It is a dangerous game to play. I only used them for pg testing after I'd done the hpt - so as an additional reassurance, but I hope people read my message that way.

I hope you get your bfp soon. If you tested in the evening even using a frer, maybe it is still a little too early and there is still a chance? Some ladies haven't got a bfp until 18 DPO. xxx

I am so conscious of being sensitive when I write posts on this site - I know what it's like to get the disappointment of not being pg so just wanted to make sure I hadn't offended! You have to be careful what you post on here, and it is a bit of a dodgy area this opk as hpt thing!

You can get a surge of LH before your period and this catches many women out. I hope a does develop though it did for me when I used an opk. xx

This has happened to me many times. A + OPK, but not pregnant. I agree...don't use them for that purpose.

Couldn't agree more...OPK's are great for catching ovulation but evil little things right before AF. I have been fooled before too!
