I have had recurrent bacterial infections for the past 3 years. I will be 12 weeks on Saturday & have not had a bacterial infection the whole time I've been pregnant up until the beginning of this week. My doctor prescribed me 4 tablets of Metronidazole 500mg to take all at once. I have never heard of taking them all at once. Could it possibly be more harmful to the baby to take them all 4 at once than it would be to take a higher dosage spread out over a week? I know my doctor wouldn't do anything that she thinks is unsafe & she said that is how they treat all bv infections in her ob patients, but I am really just trying to see if anyone else has been treated with this dosage & any other thoughts & opinions. Please don't read & run, thanks in advance!!

i have been treated with that dose for bv but not during pregnancy :-/ im sure if she in a gynea doc she knows her suff :)

Ergh, horrid stuff. I'm allergic to it! I have no advice though, sorry hun.
