a practical question

How do you have a shower when you're a single Mum? What do I do with Alasdair? I usually like to have a wash in the morning as I'm that kind of person and won't wake up if I can't!

Ex is moving out tomorrow so I'm going to need to figure it out. Managed to take rubbish out today though with pram (usually ex's job). So that was a first. I feel proud of myself, it's so stupid lol.

I'm not a single mum but i have a shower in the morning. I either bring him in the bathroom with me and sit him on the floor with some toys or put him in his cot with some toys if hes in a pickle mood x

You could get one of those bouncy chairs and have him in the bathroom with you

well done today hon! i no i'm not a single mum, but james works really long hours - out of the house 7:30 till 7 and i like a shower morning and night. maddi either is asleep, playing in her cot, in her activity station, jumperoo or i bring her in with me in her bouncer/bumbo and we have a chat

thanks girls, I just thought this would be the best place to ask! It's so silly but it's the only time of day where I usually have help from him. I know once I get used to it it'll be a doddle. I guess it's just getting into a routine. I'm going to try bringing him in to the bathroom with me (removing bin and anything on the floor!) as I'm worried he'll cry and think I'm trying to make him sleep if I put him in his cot!

he will try to crawl out and quite possibly drown lol he's such a monkey at the moment... plus isn't it hard to get them dry and dressed while you're all wet and stuff? I think this is going to be a steep learning curve for me despite being alone for 22/24 hrs a day with Ally anyway!

I mostly take a shower early morning before she wakes up or late at night after she goes to bed.
But if I do it while she's awake then I just put her in her bouncer in the bathroom.

I put Tye in his bouncy chair in the bathroom with me and shower as quick as i can! I leave the relaxing baths untill hes asleep at night!

How about buying a playpen? That way you know hes completely safe! Sometimes I'll put Kyle in his buggy and put on Mickey mouse for him, otherwise its his cot with toys.

i used to put josh in his cot with his mobile on he was happy enough if not buy a playpen or a travel cot i have one and there great especially when their crawling and your trying to do the cooking or ironing so much safer xxx

I'd be careful with the bouncer, not sure about Ali but Hannah can sit upright in hers Almost hit her head on the floor a few times when mommy wasn't watching closely enough

I put her down for a 5 min nap and take the fastest shower of my life

Not a single mom, but my DH is at work all day. I usually jut take a shower during her nap, or after she goes down for the night. I know you said you like morning showers but us moms just have to make do.

Vickie, I can't put Ally in his bouncer any more either, he's been sitting up (and almost falling out of it!) for ages now so we don't even use it!

Wednesday I put him in his bumbo in the bathroom and put his sit and stand activity centre infront of him. Then today he was asleep (up at 5 so napping between 7-8). I think when he gets a little older I am going to buy a travel cot and use it as a playpen. We need a travel cot anyway so it'll come in useful

I usually put Ruby in her cot if im home on my own. She's usually happy with some toys and left to play for a little bit while i have a shower xx
