We received alot of cheques as wedding gifts and some of them were in our joint married name, well we don't yet have a joint account in our married name (only a joint account in my maiden name), turns out you are no longer allowed to put joint cheques into any account that isn't in the exact same joint name or even in a sole account of 1 of the names, we learnt the hard way and are missing £200 worth of cheques somewhere in the Halifax system, apparently they will work their way back to us eventually, but it is a nightmare so be warned!
thanks hun. Hope you manage to get yours sorted soon! Luckily we already have a joint account with mine and OH's name so hopefully ours would go through. But we have asked for cash as we would prefer to use it on honeymoon/holiday with the kids xx
