About to have a lap-Ask these Questions...

1 week later these are the things I wish I had know so that I could have said to the surgeon in advance.

1. If you find endometriosis- please treat it there and then.
2. If you find scarring - please treat it there and then.
3. If I have a blocked tube I would like-
a) For you to try and unblock it, if the dye doesn't work please use cauterization.
b) If this doesn't work I want to know where in the tube it has a blockage and what it can be blocked with.

If I had known the NHS would only specifically treat exactly what you request (obviously hindsight is great) I would have been more prepared. The NHS took very little notes and did the minimum required. I am now booked in for a private treatment to try and unblock the blocked tube as the NHS won't do it!!!!! Urgh!!!

Sorry to hear that Cooch, but thanks for the advice. The NHS do have a tendency to do the minimum and it leaves us all in a difficult and frustrating situation.

That's awful, I can't believe they didn't go through that in their pre-op chat.

I turned down an nhs lap and reading this, i'm greatful I did!

My consent form has written on it that they will right any problems they find there and then.

Thats interesting, mine have always been done there and there. My endo has always been the worst case scenario. I have also asked (like almost demanded) that ink go down my tubes to see if they were ok. Ive never had a tube issue but he agreed and it was done.

I do agree that the more u dealings u have the more u put your foot down and demand things to be done.
