Hi ladies

Hope your keeping well, I had my 20 week scan today and all is fine Bug is very active and developing perfectly :happydance:

I wanted to stay :teamyellow: but allowed my sister to find out if she kept it to herself, so the sonographer said she would write it in my notes which I agreed to, however she did not tell me she'd put it on the scan picture as well so got totally spoilerd when I went to send pics to my family members :-o I know I should be happy Bug is healthy but I am really upset they ruined the surprise.

Aaaw no what a shame, that's really unfair for you. But you could still keep it to yourself until the baby arrives, I know it is totally not the same as the surprise of finding out at birth but that's one possibility? How frustrating sorry hun.

Oh hun thats awful, what a silly mistake for them to make, you will still have the suprise of what baby looks like at least, eye colour, hair colour etc! Xx

Aww that's a shame they ruined the surprise like that. You must be so annoyed :(

I was but I'm calming down I told my mum what happened and she said she'll be surprised for the both of us lol

Without sounding patronising are you sure it's not your sex (F) that's on the scan pictures?

I'm only asking as OH thought this from my 12 weeks scan with DS1! Ultrasound is used for more than just pregnancy so my scan pictures has my name, age and sex on

I've never seen baby's sex on a scan picture unless it's a specific gender scan with the relevant bits circled and labeled as it's a boy/girl

Jodilee has a good point! X

Nope my details are in the top left and underneath it says son no mistaking unfortunately.

So sorry hun! I'd be heartbroken! Just know that there are still lots of surprises with lil one to come!

That's very strange, I've never seen that!

Can you post a pic? I'm genuinely curious now :)

Hope that worked although now I look at it might be short for sonogram and mem being me had to look at my notes to check which also said boy so who knows....

Nope you are good to go my dear!!! Usually they type it right above babies body or head!!!

I definately think it is short for sonogram they always put boy or girl above baby for gender :) sorry you now know after looking at your notes , but it will still be just as amazing xx

Agree with above! Think it's diagnosticand not stating gender at all.

That's terrible - so sorry to hear that. I'd be upset too. Are you planning on having another? I can only guess you won't be letting any chance of a slip up next time! You were trying to be nice and it shows how thoughtful you are :hugs:xx

Edit: just looked at your photo, I agree - think it's short for sonogram!

That's not the gender. If it is a boy it is coincidence :flower: and it looks like a girl lol I'd say the surprise is still there :flower:

Deff short for sonogram they would have put male/female or girl/boy.
Oh I'm so dissapointed for you, but huge congratulations on your baby boy 😊
Maybe think of the positives like Ll the cute things you can buy xx

This is my first baby and I've had 4 scans this pregnancy I've never seen that on any of the others just feel like a bit of an idiot now the sonographer said he's moving a lot during the scan so wasn't a complete surprise anyway if I'd just waited

Was thinking of getting a 4d scan but I'm deffo keeping his little face a mystery and I don't feel so bad calling him Bug it's not a very girly nickname lol

Fingers crossed for the rest of team :yellow: don't do what I did!

Ooh bless you, that pregnancy brain playing with you!! For your next baby get them to write it on a bit paper and put it in an envelope that way there is no chance of finding out. What about having a gender reveal party? That way you can see the surprise on everyone else's face when they find out?
