backstory: my daughter was born (7 years ago) at 34 weeks. I went into spontaneous labour at 28 week then water broke at 33 week and delivered her at 34 week. 3 labours, first 2 medically stopped. The first time I went into labour I had no clue what was happening, I actually thought I was in some kind of emergency because it was nothing like what I’d expected. No “contractions” just all of a sudden a continuous aching pain that knocked me to my knees, it was so bad I couldnt get up and crawled around the floor getting a bucket to throw up in. The nausea was horrrific too. I got to hospital within the hour and it was classed as an emergency, finally stopped by the medication an hour or 2 after arriving. I left hospital the next day with lots of medication to keep labour at bay and a 2cm dilated cervix.

This pregnancy: I’ve had 3 occurances in the night (over 4 weeks) where I’ve been woken up by pain across my bump, constant ache (doesn’t get worse with the tightenings) lots of Braxton Hicks and very nauseas. Each time I fear the worse but it finally relents after a couple of hours then I go back to sleep.
Any ideas what it could be? The first time it happened I was sent to day care unit for assessment but cervix wasn’t dilated thankfully so I don’t think it’s that bad. It only ever happens at night, which is a good sign but strange
Thanks for reading

It might just be Braxton Hicks as I’ve heard them described as presenting like that.....

HOWEVER - knowing your history - I think you really need to speak with your doctor - even a high risk specialist - on this matter. Like, ASAP. Things can happen much quicker the second time around. Not trying to scare you as I’m sure it’ll all be fine. But, in my opinion this is something that sounds best to be thoroughly monitored by your obgyn - only because there are many ways to aid you carrying your baby til full term, but most of those methods work best when implemented sooner rather than later

And if/when its nothing, then you can rest easy and chalk it up to one of the many lovely “mysteries” of pregnancy :flower:

Thank you Bella for your reply. I have an apt just after Christmas so if it doesn’t happen again before then I will discuss it then x
