Acupuncture and traditional chinese medicineafter failed IUI

Loving this thread. I've been doing acupuncture about once every 1-2 weeks for the past couple of months. I've probably had about 4-5 sessions so far. Still no ovulation after coming off BCP, but overall feeling better. Charts showed that I was close, but no....We are going to go a little more aggressive with herbal medicine and supplements this next round. Fingers crossed!!

Still have not ovulated but at least I am feeling pretty good!

I just had my first acupuncture session yesterday. It was definitely a new experience and I'm not sure if I feel much different. Apparently I have very stagnant blood - my hands and feet are always cold and clammy, but my cheeks are rosy and I get VERY warm at night. Perhaps I was less warm last night? Hard to say as it is so cold lately where I live. My hands seemed warmer today, too. Hopefully it is working! I start IVF next cycle and I need all the help I can get!

I have a concern.. can acupuncture n herbs delay ovulation? I have had regular periods till now. I ovulate between cd 15-17 each time. But this time I am cd 22 but no rise in BBT. I got a positive opk on cd 20. but have still not got a rise. I am confused. Is acupuncture affecting me negatively? I asked my acupuncturist yesterday and he just said that "there can be many reasons to it..but dont worry its pretty normal".

How comes you have opted for soy?

I am still waiting for my referral for my FS. We have been trying for over 2 1/2 years, have done the lap and the tube flushing, sa (all fine) so we know it is a "me" issue. I thought I would try someone in hopes it would improve egg quality. Although I know there is no actual research confirming it does work I thought why the heck not.
I did try it another month 3 months ago but took the lowest dose possible which is why I decided to just go for it and see what happens.

Hey I am the same and completely understandr and would try anything . Was asking about the soy as if you lack progesterone the soy is estrogen dominant so could have adverse affect

Sorry I have no answers for you. I would trust your acupuncturist if you can. Hope you ovulate soon!

I've been taking the herbs this month and I didn't notice a change when I ovulated this month than previous months.

That is really good to know, I knew it increased your estrogen but I didn't quite think about how it would affect my progesterone. FX it works and I dont have any adverse reaction.
I do know I had one KILLER hormonal day but to be honest that is most likely normal for me anyways and I just dont notice it. lol.

So I am done acupuncture for the month. I have another one once/if my cycle starts. I am not sure if it is doing anything for my cycle or fertility only time can tell that, however it was fantastic for my mental stability. Maybe it was the calming music or the woman herself - she was fantastic - but I really felt wonderful after every session.

Hi all , I was looking lucky enough to be able to go to a specialist. I found out that I am super fertile and none of my fibroids are inside my uterus so don't interfere with my fertility. I had ovulated and have plenty of eggs and no sign of blocked tubes. This means the problem is with my husband and the urologist that my husband saw said he needed to take proxeed and run everyday as well as having a stable environment. I have no idea if acupuncture would work for men

Well I just had my second acupuncture session yesterday. Not sure I feel much different today but I think it's hard to really know after just 2 times. I've been instructed to start drinking cranberry/pomegranate/coconut water to help cleanse my kidneys and lemon water to help with my liver. So I just spent nearly 50$ buying cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, and coconut water! Gah. Hope this works. It doesn't help that my hubby wants to drink it too!

That's great that you are a-ok Bordeaux!! Sorry to hear about your hubby though. I think I read something about it helping sperm counts?

I have something to share.. It's been a month I am on tcm and acupunture . My periods used to be very painful but this time they are quite smooth. No pain at all, no discomfort. Acupuncture ...so far soo good.

I am currently pregnant with my first and am almost 20 weeks. We were trying for a little over a year before turning to acupuncture. I got pregnant within one week of my first appointment and am still doing acupuncture and taking herbs throughout my pregnancy. Prior to that I drastically changed my diet and eliminated gluten, dairy, and refined sugar.

My hands and feet were always freezing cold and have been consistently warm since starting acupuncture and herbs. Acupuncture worked for me and my practitioner told me that it works for men too. Even if your test results are normal, you may still be out of balance.

This is exactly the kind of thread I was looking for! I started acupuncture a week ago and have been feeling great since! I have been able to sleep better, my headaches are gone and I have more energy. Even if I don't get pregnant I'll keep going.

We are on month 17 of trying to conceive and this month has been different. I have been really hot, like I'm having hot flashes, not sure if I should attribute it to acupuncture or a hormone shift. Also, lots of creamy CM. I'm testing on the 17th so I guess I'll find out soon enough!
