Hi ladies,

Has anyone had (or heard of) any success with acupuncture helping them conceive? I heard good thing about it years ago and was wondering if there was any truth to it helping people who are TTC. I've found research suggesting that when it's used alongside IVF it makes the IVF more likely to be successful, but I couldn't find much on general TTC.

Thanks.

Yes, me!!

I was ttc #1 for 12 months when I finally got diagnosed with low progesterone and wasn't ovulating properly. Knowing how long it could take to see a fertility specialist I decided to give acupuncture a go, because I just felt like I needed to do something - all the waiting ttc is awful isn't it?!

I got pregnant first cycle with acupuncture :happy dance: the woman doing it also put me on some herbs and made me make some changes to my diet. Plus that month I also cut right back on my cups of tea and drank a lot more water, so guess it could be a combination of it all.

The only thing is that it can be quite expensive. I'm WTT atm so trying all the diet stuff and am charting to see if I can O this time round without the acupuncture, but if I have problems again then I'd defo go back for more acupuncture.

After I finally got my BFP I suggested acu to my friend who was about to start IVF after unexplained infertility. She didn't fancy the needles (that not it really hurts) and gave reflexology a go. After 2 cycles of that she got her BFP without having to do IVF and is now preggers with her second!!

Good luck xx

Wow, that's a brilliant couple of success stories. Thanks for sharing. I'm really tempted to try it next cycle when this one finally ends.

I had my first acupunture today after being diagnosed wit pco im not on any fertility medications yet so just hoping this works

I have been TTC for 1 year. I have been going to an acupuncturist regularly for 3 months. I am just about to get AF tomorrow or later today. Hasn't worked for me yet. My acupuncturist told me that I should expect results anywhere from 3 months-12 months. Good luck mama

Acupuncture sounds scary at first, however it is really pain free.
I first learn about acupuncture herehttps://knowhen.com/index.php/2015-04-19-20-16-28/infertility/152-how-acupuncture-works-for-infertility
It is basically try to improve your whole physically condition and metabolism, in order to increase the chances.

Some acupuncturists will give you herbs to go with the treatment, you should definitely check if (or just ask more to make sure) you are allergic to any of them, or is there any potential side effects.

If you are all good, just give it a try! It's really a mysterious and effective treatment :)
