Does any one use these blankets to swaddle their 4,5,6 month old?

My almost 4 month old still needs to be swaddled. I was recommended to get these. They are a little expensive. I plan on only getting 1 or 2. Is it worth a shot?

I am also getting the woombie to give it a cry. She is already kicking and stretching and getting out of those velcro type of sleep sacks/swaddles. So I need some alternatives. She also keeps rubbing her eyes and pulling her hair with her hands during sleep time and that wakes her up.

These blankets would be great for this! I have about 6 of them and I do not swaddle her, but they would work great as they are huge! I got some of the name brand and some at Marshall's for WAY cheaper. They also have a similar one at K-Mart that is cheaper. I think they are pretty great though. I honestly didn't like them much when she was newborn as they are so big.

They are gorgeous but a 4+ month baby will break out of them. I used one as a bottom layer swaddle and then a kiddopotamus swaddle-me with velcro overtop to perfect the straight jacket ... er... swaddle! :)

They often have them reduced in our local tk maxx

aliss you must have a very strong 4 month old! My OH just successfully swaddled my 1 year old with it the other night when she was being particularly fussy. :haha:

Anyway, I was the one who suggested it in the other thread, so obviously I am a fan! Even if for whatever reason it doesn't work for swaddling, we use ours as a light blanket for her at night and also to throw over the top of the stroller to block the sun out.

Oh yes.... very strong. That's the A+A as the 1st layer.

I don't have an aden+anais, but I do have some large plain muslin cloths for swaddling and they are fantastic! Chloe can't escape them yet. And like pp said, multi purpose too!

Thanks everyone. I was wondering if I would have better luck with these muslin blankets or the woombie. I ordered the convertable woombie hoping to train her to sleep without being swaddled. But now I wonder if i should get the summer version (which is thinner).

She cannot nap for more than 15-20 min without a swaddle. And it's too hot with even the cotton swaddle-me blanket. I think I should swaddle her naked!

The summer version is very light & stretchy, give it a try. Both of my boys are like this too, even #1 was until 10 months

(PS- I am from Langley! Just moved 2 years ago though. Small world).

I loved them but like Aliss, my (admittedly large and strong) four-month-old would bust out of them easily. But I still use them every day for pram covers on walks, little 'rugs' to throw on the floor for him to sit on or lie on in the park, folded up as a pillow on the change table, drop cloths for under the high chair etc etc.

My OH has to smack my hand every time we walk into a shop with ones with new designs as I would own about a hundred by now if he didn't. But seriously LOOK AT THESE>> https://www.adenandanais.com/shop/itemdisplay.aspx?ID=167&SKU=9201 How could you resist?!

A pack of them is pretty much my stand-by baby shower gift now.

Hi! I'm actually in cloverdale. Pretty close to the willowbrook area in langley! :)

I figured the price of getting an additional summer woombie is pretty much the same as getting a pack of 2-3 a+a muslin blankets. I cannot decide!! I still have yet to try out the convertible woombie I ordered though...

My little girl is pretty strong too. She gets her arms out of the velcro type of sacks easily. She also likes to kick and stretch alot before actually falling asleep, so that doesn't help!

I love the A&A blankets (and their sheets) but I could only swaddle my LO in them for a week and then moved on to Woombie (only the best swaddle out there).

I still use the blankets to this day but not for swaddling.

Aliss, would you recommend the woombie summer or woombie air?
I read that the summer version is stretchier, and I think my little one likes it more snug. But I was afraid the original might be a bit thicker than i wanted? I ordered mega baby which is 20-25lb. I read that the new ones run a bit small.

She is 14lb right now, so I think I should order the "Big Baby" size instead?

We used the A+A blankets exclusively when we were swaddling. For us, it only lasted until a little before 4 months when he learned to roll onto his belly, but when we were doing it, they worked great and were light enough to use in the summer and thin enough to conform to wrapping him up pretty snugly.

Hilarious! We lived at 200th & 56th! Only a few minutes away.

I used the A+A last night (he's 5 months & 18lbs) and you know what... it worked fantastic!!! So maybe my memory was off?? I'd say go for it. I didn't care for the summer ones, too stretchy.
