Hello,

Is anyone doing an apprenticeship with a child?
I'm looking to do a social/care worker apprenticeship but can't justify 100 pounds a week for full time work when i have a child and my husbands currently not working either....

Is anyone in my position? how has it worked out for you?

Thanks ladies. xxxx

if its what you want to do and you Will be better off long term then go for it... i assume you would be entitled to higher levels of tax credits and other benefits for the duration?
i'm going back to uni in Sept and with student loans and fees this time next year we'll be £15k in debt and tgats without the £700 nursery bill each month that needs paying and i'll be earning.g nothing! but its only a year and once i start teaching we'll be alot better off!

Would i be entitled to working tax credits? or would it only be child tax? i did ask in the centre but they werent entirely sure regarding working tax credits.

It would be great for us in long term but not sure if i can jusitfy it just yet...

I spoke to my benefits adviser about this the other day, she said you do get working tax credit and it's worked out by how much you earn, rather than the hours you do. So you'll get the amount of tax credit that you would if you worked 16hrs per week. I'm going to go for it
