when you start a job you will have to hand in a P45 or fill out a P46.
When you fill out a P46 it gives the option to say that it is a second job so HMRC will know how you should be taxed.
your tax is slightly higher on a second job but I imagine you will get a rebate if the part-time jobs do not equal or exceed the hours of a full time job.

You should be fine. I took on a Christmas job whilst working part time elsewhere & wasn't taxed badly or anything & i didn't have to tell thorntons it was a 2nd job

this :). i had 3 jobs at one point so its right lol. just check your tax code when you get your first wage slips, one should be a tax code (747L i think) and other should be BR (basic rate). if both are BR or have a tax code then you need to contact the tax office. you wll probably be enttled to a rebate in april if you have earnt under £7,470k too :).

Ooohh I worked 2 jobs for years, I worked in a office in the day and done bar work in the evening but both pay slips had a tax code, should they have not done? Does this mean I've under/over paid or something? x
