advice needed ... please?

Jacob was always a contented baby, just happy to lay watching and looking around, going to sleep when he needed to. But jut recently he is difficult to settle, crying alot and seeming upset. not sure what it is, could it be his feed? not sure but its the only thing i can think of?

jacob is 4 weeks and is taking 4oz to 5oz every 3 to 4 hours through the day and 4 to 5 hours at night. but just recently he has started taking longer to settle after feeds and he also seems to be wanting more feed more quickly. we are using avent bottles with number 2 teats. I dont want to be overfeeding him.

dont know if he needs more feed, dont think a 4 week old should be on 6oz just yet?! or if it is the bottles we are using? he seems to have a lot of wind though as he burps and farts alot, not sure if it is trapped wind? everytime he feeds he always has a big burp and fart. but we never leave him until he seems like he has released this gas.

not sure whats wrong, he just might be grumpy. he isnt ill in anyway no temp, happy in himself its just when we put him down to sleep.

Charlotte started wanting to feed more often and was always a bit grumpy at about 3wks so we changed her over to C&G for hungry babies and it seems to have done the trick, sounds like maybe thats what Jacob needs? x

thanks we are using cow and gate now so will have a look at the hungrier babies one x

Id ask the HV as my little one was the same and the HV said she was just having a growth spurt which makes them a little hungrier and not to change milk as she is a little young it can make her consitipated!!

Just ask and see what they say

will do, we seem to have had a better day today, he doesnt seem as unsettled and greedy, hope tonights gonna be better!...thanks

I recommend cow and gate comfort its a god send we had the same thing with lilly and it made her really collicy the standard no 1 formula then switched and its as if we've got our baby back again. x

I gave Grace hungrier babies milk (cow and gate) at 8 weeks as she was never full enough. Honestly, it didn't seem to make any difference

Theres alot of reasons for crankiness... Growth spurts, colic, not getting enough... lactose intolerance etc... Its all hit am miss. 4 weeks is a common time for colic to start though.

thanks, we thought it maybe colic been reading up on it and it he seems to have the symptoms. will have a word with hv.
