Advice please..do you store steralised water in the fridge or out at room temp???

Please can you help me I am not sure if when I make up steralised bottles ready to add the formula when needed, if I should be storing them in the fridge or out at room temp.

I used to always leave mine in, some people would say that is wrong, but it never caused a problem.
When i had take some out make room for some others id just leave them on the bench in the kitchen.

Is it empty sterilised bottles or sterilised bottles with the boiled water in them?

I was told that when you open the lid of a steam steriliser the stuff inside won't stay sterile but what you can do is put the parts together and set it at the back of the fridge (coldest part) to keep it sterile for up to 24 hrs until you fill with milk and use it.

It sounded a bit complicated so I changed to a cold water steriliser! Open the lid as much as you like no problems.

Now what I do is sterilise and measure in the boiled water then lids on and leave at room temp to cool down. (In the cupboard rather than sitting out as it looks neater lol! And put in the milk powder when needed.) This is for a 6 month old baby though and I started this around 4 months, until then he was on cartons just poured in as required no forward planning needed.

I steralise bottles, fill with boiling water, leave on side at room temp to cool down then stick them in the fridge.. then add formula as and when needed and warm up

I store mine in the fridge once the water has cooled in the kettle for 30mins xx
