Hi ladies,

I had 3 embies transferred 4 days ago and today my tummy is really bloated and got quite bad af pains. Really feels like af is about to arrive. Am trying not to stress but not that easy. Can anyone tell me if this is normal please? xx

Donna love I don't know at all I'm afraid but didn't want to leave you without a reply! Can you phone your clinic to discuss these symptoms? I am always getting myself into a panic about things and the clinic people are SOO nice and reassuring to me, and don't seem to mind me being a total loon!

Good luck :)

X

Thanks Littlemouse. Yes I could call them although there really isn't anything they can do anyway is there. I suppose I just sit it out and see what happens. Thanks for replying hunni. How are you doing? xx

I'm okay.. I did too much at the weekend and had to call in sick today as I'm completely exhausted!

Also had a scare yesterday as we had sex for 1st time and afterwards I had some bleeding... I completely freaked out but we called the clinic emergency line and apparently it's quite normal after ivf because it's all so tender following the treatment. I won't be doing that again for a while I can tell you, it's just not worth the heartache!

I can't tell you how terrified I was that it was all over. 2 weeks until my early scan and I don't think I'll relax at all until then. And even then probably won't relax much! God it's hideous sometimes isn't it?

X

hi donna it does seem to be normal, if you take a look back through the ivf/icsi thread i started most of the ladies i cycled with had af pains after transfer so try not to worry too much, i know its easier said than done x

Ah bless you :hugs: It really is a nightmare. If its not one thing we're worrying about it's something else. But it all relates to bringing home a healthy baby, doesn't it? Yeah i'd stop that nonsense too if I were you :winkwink: I'm sure it doesn't really do any harm but it's not worth it, for your own piece of mind. How far gone are you now? try not to stress too much and enjoy being pg xx

Thanks Raf wife. I'll have a look through them. Honestly it feels like aunt flo just about to burst through the door with all her shopping! xx

both myself and a lady called jo who had her transfer the same day as me had exactly the same symptoms all the way through the 2ww including very strong af pains and we both had a different result at the end of it so you cant read to much into any of it x

Thanks Raf wife. So could be good, could be bad, but wont know for a while anyway so will take some paracetamol and stop worrying about it. And that was my excuse to sit down and take a break from the ironing. Spose I'd better get back and do it. Thanks ladies xx

Not too much ironing Donna!

I'm about 5 weeks so very very early days..

Hi Donna

I just wanted to reply, as I had some slight AF pains a few days after ET and little McPeanut was fine. I also had throughout my first tri some pretty instense cramping - that had me have to lay down and rest and bub was still a'ok - so you hang in there :hugs:

the other thing I wanted to mention, is keep an eye out for hyper stimulation syndrome. It can happen with IVF. If you start to feel really bloated (and notice it) and feel sick or notice you're not weeing much (even though you're drinking a lot) call your clinic for advice

Thanks Naynay, its reassuing to know that its not necessarily a bad sign. THe bloating only comes with the pain (its def not OHSS) I had it really badly again yesterday; it lasted for hours. But there is nothing I can do except take pain killers and try not to worry. What will be will be......................thanks again and glad to see all worked out well for you.xx
