Hello lovelies

Bit of a weird one this... but we have a pretty good sized nursery which actually has a sink in (used to be a bedroom... though a sink in a bedroom baffles me... then again a lot of this house baffles me). I have a changing unit etc and so am planning on doing all home nappy changes/baths/washes etc in the nursery.

We have a bin for nappies in the nursery and will be using nappy bags etc but I'm starting to panic (as you do over silly things at this stage) that the nursery will start to pong. It'll be winter when he's here so I can't have windows open much, I know the bin will be frequently emptied and the nursery will be clean etc but I can't stop worrying about it smelling in there.

I'm veeeeery asthmatic and sensitive to air fresheners, incense etc anyway but wondered what things I can use to keep it smelling nice? I normally have either scented candles (not a nursery option) or those glass type Glade air fresheners. You know the ones that are like a chunky bit of glass with wavy jelly smelly lines on it. Would one of those way out of reach be ok to do you think?

Pregnancy worries and panics are fuuuun lol xx

What about having drawer scent things hanging on the changing unit or chest of drawers or even door handles? The yankee candle ones are lush, especially the baby powder one mmmm! x

Oooh I like the sound of that. Thanks for tip... and for not laughing at me for being silly :D xx

We dont use any sort of air fresheners, they are just full of chemicals so certainly wouldnt put them in babies room, draw scents are a good alternative as Kirst264 says xx

If you're really sensitive hun, I'd be careful about putting anything in babies room until you know if they are too. I am allergic to the smell of lavendar believe it or not and can easily make me wheezy. Bicarb is a good option until you know x

Thanks ladies

Isolabella... I'm not allergic to Lavender but I wish I had that excuse. I HATE Lavender xx

lol me too not just because of the allergy either doesn't help when everyone suggests it as a way of getting to sleep atm either!

Ill tell you a good little tip... put the nappies in scented bags :) there really good i use to have them for pads etc and they stop nasty smells from leaking out bin ^_^

i have the glade 3volution in our childrens bedroom as my daughter is only 2 and still in nappies, so the room tends to get a bit smelly when she (fills) her nappy during the night, and the 3volution stops it brilliantly, keeps the room smelling great without the same scent, so you never get used to the same smell xx

Hey hun, not sure if this article is of any use, it gives a few tips on what you can use in the nursery :)

I'm too scared to use air freshener around baby cos of the chemicals that they leave in the air.

I'm buying an air purifier to leave on for an hour or so at night and I will open the window for 15-20mins in the morning to let some air circulate so baby gets fresher air xxx

im planning to buy another yankee candle plug in while baby is still small. You can get these in the baby powder sent. I'm addicted to yankee candles to begin with.
