...is anyone missing not being able to have a drink or three?...

I´m quite surprised at how not bothered I am about not being able to have a drink. I will admit to having enjoyed a drink or two (or three or ten!!!) when out on the town or to enjoying a bottle of wine with a meal in an evening, but I thought when I got pregnant I would find it really hard when everyone else around me is having a drink to not be able to to - but I am so not bothered about it, and totally not missing it at all!

I had a very hard time in the beginning, but I think thats because I was working my way to alcoholism :dohh:
It's actually not so bad now.

Not really, but I was not much a drinker before. The only time I wanted a drink was when I was having Mexican food one day, and it was still warm, and we were seated outside, and damn a margarita sounded sooooo goood.

I really thought i would find the not drinking bit difficult (as you dont realise how much of it is built into your social calendar). Even when me and my fiancee have a quiet night on a saturday we usually would have a couple of bottles of wine.

Since getting pregnant i haven't wanted a drink at all. I think it might be my body's way of telling me what i do and dont need x

I am not really missing drinking surprisingly as was quite a big drinker socially when we went out, but i am having a problem with other people drinking around me!! lol

You find them so much more annoying and you notice everything they do and say!!!!

was quite funny on a work do recently and i saw how much people showed them selves up!!! haha evil i know LOL

..yeah I know what you mean with the other people bit. I was out on Saturday night with my hubby. He didn´t actually have that much to drink, so wasn´t totally drunk, but the stupid things he was doing and saying really annoyed me - whereas if I´d have a had a few drinks, I probably wouldn´t have even noticed!

I agree with yourself and Jules!
I was an enjoyer of alcohol and was sure I'd miss it, but I havent! Even a glass of red of an evening - I just don't want one!!

And I've found drunken people a little annoying too. It's like our bodies have suddenly decided they wont miss the wine to help us out!!!
I'm enjoying not having hangovers and not being the one talking sh*te at the end of the night. I'm enjoying early nights!!

I did have a bottle of alcohol free beer watching the football last week. That was quite nice actually! The kronenberg one - i can recomend it. But I just had the one....didnt want to go OTT! heheh.

I dont really drink so it's no different for me..

The only thing I am going to miss is having a bailey's with loads of ice as its coming up to christmas, me and my mum always go halves on a big bottle of baileys at christmas time, its so yummy with a few roses, a few mince pies, a turkey and mayo sandwich, the usual christmas goodies..

Its just something we do every year so Im gonna miss that i think..

Never mind, theres always next year !!

So strange to think I'll have a little baby to share christmas with next year.. Im gonna love buying baby toys !!

I don't miss it at all. The only time I had an inkling of missing it was at Thanksgiving my BIL made Sangria, which I LOVE and I was a little sad I couldn't have that, but that's the only time I've even cared.

Well before i drank every like weekend or maybe every fortnight with my bf, nd his m8 & his gf......& even now they still bring crates round & drink & they offer me one & i turn it down staight away. It is very hard watching them drink in the same room as you but im not bothered because at least i know im not hurting my baby if i drink so i just sit there with orange juice or sumthing.

hey gals, it's sooo good to hear that your not drinking!!! I like a social drink too, once in a while and usually especially at Christmas time with the family. Though not when I have this little one growing inside...Though I work everyday with kids who have been affected by exposure to alcohol when they were in the womb...the have Fetal Alcohol Syndrom.... I would not want to wish this apon any baby...child ..adult... they really stuggle to cope everyday...
:hi:

Before pregnacy I loved to drink on the weekends. Since I found out I haven't missed drinking at all. Actually the weekend before I found out I went to a Mizzou football game and we drank and had a good time. By the time we got home, my stomach hurt so bad and I was wiped out. I didn't know I was pregnant at the time. I haven't craved a drink since. Also, my husband had people over this past weekend and they stayed up till 3 AM downstairs playing drinking games. They were so loud and they were laughing. I miss the good time but that is about it. Then the following day, my husband went to the MU / KU football game and got really drunk, came home and threw up a lot, I had to leave the room so I wouldn't get sick just listening to him. We can get sick all on our own, lol!!! So I would have to say I don't miss the drinking or feeling horrible the next day and wondering how much I made an a** out of myself, lol!!
