So here's a loaded question. Will anyone here consider changing their own parenting tactics to include stronger discipline on their own LOs... to ensure the same "lost generation" isn't repeated? xx
I always thought to myself growing up that i didnt wanna be a parent that was as strict as my parents were with us...
However judging by how we have turned out, i dont now think its such a bad thing. Having 3 older brothers, none of which have ever been in trouble with the police, all went to uni and finished there educations and are just generally good rounded individuals...id be pretty surprised if the same wouldve happened if they were parented in a less relaxed way...I dunno really, but being a little strict cant do too much harm in moderation and when its needed is fine.
Something all of these kids causing this havoc havent ever had i suspect!
my mum was strict when I was younger (not exactly old now) but it didn't stop me going out drinking/smoking/having sex at 13/14shock: ergh, I sound great!) but some of my friends had the most lax parents and they never did anything I did, a parent can only do so much
I do agree that these people should be at home though!
LOL

The guy walking with the newspaper over his face is Alexis Bailey (the teacher who was in court this morning - pleaded guilty to looting a shop in Croydon) leaving court... at the end he walks straight into a lamppost! xx

Tbh, we weren't ever hit and my mum wasn't strict at all and none pd us have ever been in trouble either. No coming home wasted, no drugs and not even smoking.
