I have an allergy to midgey bites, I come out in huge red sore lumps which are bigger than a 50p. I am usually on antihistamines for my hayfever, which help reduce the above, but due to the pregnancy I am not on them. I got bitten yesterday morning and my legs are SO sore, I have phoned NHS24 (NHS direct, but scottish) and they have advised I ice them, use Calamine lotion and keep an eye on them. Great, doesn't help the pain or the irritating when wearing long trousers.

I am going to try and get an urgent GP appt on Monday, I know I can't take anything for them, but one of them looks a little purple and I want to get it checked out properly.

My poor legs!

I'm exactly the same, its awful isn't it :( Have you tried lemon juice? It stings a little when you apply it for the first time but it does help

I'm the same and am just covered just now on my feet and legs. Will defo try the lemon juice!

I ha a couple of flea bites a while a go and reacted really badly to them - the area all around them on my leg went all swollen. I just used calamine and ice but it was horrid and they took ages to go down. I did try a bit of hydrocortisone which I had been prescribed for something else but I don't think it did anything.
