Interesting about the goats milk. We were told to avoid it too but I had it as a baby with no issues.
I wouldnt worry too much about Breast milk having cmp in. If you cut out dairy now it will start to work its way out and I have read bm repairs the gut anyway. I started to cut dairy out at 6 weeks, was probably 12 weeks by the time all dairy and soya was out of my diet (forgot to say hes allergic to soya too) and I just carried on Breastfeeding. All the Drs we saw were supportive of continued Breastfeeding and were still going strong now at 1 year old. So it doesnt have to be the end if you want to continue. Obviously personal choice whatever you feel comfortable doing but dont let a dr back you into a corner!
I can't cut out dairy long term due to a history of osteoporosis in my family. My doctor would rather I stop breastfeeding (or at least try for one a day before I have too much dairy) and formula feed for that reason. Weighing up the pros and the cons, he'd rather I have dairy than take supplements anyhow. DS3 has yet to grow out of it but I've just made the call to leave him off cow dairy until he's old enough to make his own choice. There are plenty of alternatives out there and he's beginning to discover dairy-free chocolate and coconut milk products. He doesn't seem to like cow milk anyhow and I assume that is because he's so used to the creaminess and natural sweetness of the goat milk. He will not touch soy. I personally love soy milk but I find the formula stinks and doesn't mix very well. But we aren't vegetarians either so I'm not in favor of using soy anyhow. There is conflicting evidence that soy formula can leave boys sterile in adulthood which influenced our choice to not use soy. I don't want to be the one to risk taking the choice of them wanting a family away because of a choice I made for them as infants.
