I had no idea when I started nursing that I would be doing it for 34 months. If I had, I might have been terrified! My little one nursed every 2 hours for the first 15 months of his life. I got pneumonia and had to move to another room to sleep and he instantly started sleeping through the night (and we ended up moving out of the master bedroom and giving it to him...maybe that was his master plan all along!!).
Over the past 6 months he's been nursing less and less until finally my milk dried up completely. He still tried to get some "boo boo", but I think he's finally given up and understands that there is no milk in there.
I'm happy to be done with it, and so terribly sad at the same time! He's finally, officially, not a baby anymore. Now I just have to keep fighting off this broody feeling I've been having...I'm not ready for number 2!
