Good evening ladies. today at work I very almost passed out, I went all hot and dizzy and I had black dots in my eyes then everything went black couldn't see a thing, I was serving a customer at the time with no other staff around. to say I was scared would be an understatement. I've never gone that dizzy that I see black. my question is, is it likely to be a one off or can I expect it to happen again? with the weather getting warmer that is a concern of mine.

Right around 20 weeks is when I had low blood pressure and nearly passed out at work on two occasions. Drink a lot of water, eat something salty, and if you feel light-headed, sit down! Mine went away after about 10 days and haven't had an issue since.

I agree about sitting down and drinking some water.

I don't think you can predict if it'll happen again as I think it'll really depend on what caused it in the first place. If it happens again though, I'd definitely call your doctor/midwife to make sure everything is fine.

A few weeks ago I was trying to do dishes. It was hot, but I ha a box fan on me. Same thing happened; hot, dizzy, black spots. I sat down. I was fine once it passed.

Friday night I was in l&d for frequent BH. As I was getting hooked up to the monitor, I got hot, dizzy, black spots an ended up passing out (thankfully was already down). It turns out my blood pressure tanked to 86/55.

It could be a blood pressure issue, it could be something else, or it could be nothing or just the heat. If it happens again, sit down, have someone get you some water, and call your provider to see if they can find what's causing it.

If you were serving a customer and standing still for a large period of time, its more likely your blood has had trouble circulating around your body, this is common in pregnancy. Try to keep moving as much as u can, even if you are giggling your legs about behind the counter!! Xx

Have you had any blood pressure issues in the past? It sounds like your BP dropped. Something to mention to your dr/midwife and see if they want to follow up on it.

my blood pressure is usually low, pregnancy its even lower around 86/59. so if it was down to my blood pressure it would have had to very low for me to feel the effect. defiantly going to call midwife if it happens again, going to tell her about it anyway when I see her next

yea I have, just after having my second it dropped to 56/46. it dropped quite low after having my first as well but not sure how low it went then. just remember being asked if I felt ok.

I had the same issue happen to me walking around the store, I went hot & dizzy, tingly & clammy. Scariest feeling ever, especially since I've been having some bad cramping here & there. I read up that it was due to low blood pressure that happens in mid-pregnancy. I've been hydrating like CRAZY and trying to keep some salty foods on hand. I work a 12 hour shift dispatching so I don't have to worry much about being off my feet. Swelling has started already though. I plan on asking about it more tomorrow at my u/s.

I nearly fainted due to low blood pressure at 22 weeks, my midwife said to take it easy when standing up as this can trigger it and make sure you keep your blood sugar balanced by eating more frequently if you need to. I have to pause at the top of the stairs now as the exertion triggers it.

well had the same feeling again today while waiting for my bus, this time without the black spots, I think it was more due to the heat this time though, but defiantly going to mention it to my midwife.
making sure I drink enough is difficult for me as I've always struggled to drink any way near enough, some days I barely drink near on 1 litre.

I had terrible lbp at the 18-22 week mark. Salt your food, drink loads of water, take your iron supplement (lbp is very similar to anemia - and you DON'T want to be low in iron - that has serious long term effects on baby), a little coffee helps and if you work out, this helps too. Actually working out was what helped me the most. I hope it passes for you as it did me!

When pregnant with my dd I fainted at the supermarket checkout. It was very embarrassing. I can't remember how many weeks I was but my midwife said it was normal. I didn't faint properly again but I remember a few dizzy spells.

I had is from 12 weeks till I had my baby with my second not as bad though.
had it again today but didn't have the black spots, just the heavy head, dizziness and difficultly in breathing.

Ive had this twice already in this pregnancy im only 14 weeks. I find both times its happened at home in the morning I try and eat something very quickly and sip water to bring myself back. Its a horrid feeling. My blood pressure is also low even when im not pregnant.

I'd say most likely it's low blood sugar. It doesn't necessarily mean you have gestational diabetes, but that you may need to eat more often than you are, especially if you are going so long with no food in between meals. I had this happen to me in all 3 pregnancies right around the 12 week mark, never tested positive for gd btw, and just started bringing snacks with me if I knew I was going to be out for 2 hrs or longer, like nuts or granola bars. Your growing baby is bigger and will continue getting bigger, and will be demanding more nutrients from your body.
