Alternate to ultrasound gel... i ran out!

Used my doppler last nite with my pregnacare stretching skin cream.

Its a hi bebe doppler and i was so suprised at how much better the cream was then the gel...glide was waaaaay better!!

Anyway was just wondering, is it dangerous not to use the ultrasound gel with dopplers, or is the gel just purely a medium to glide the probe??
Sorry if this is a dumb question?

Whatever you use should be water based not oil based, but basically you can use anything. I use a nice thin Aloe gel I have, the glide is lovely and you only need to use a little bit. But water based lube is good too... The plain old futex lube is good, or alot of ladies I see use KY jelly... But even the £1 stuff from Wilkinsons works well lol

I've used aloe vera, lotion, and hair gel. Mine said not to use oil based like baby oil

Aahh...I have used nothing but baby oil with mine...works everytime & gives a nice clear sound.

Baby Oil is super and much better that the gelI ditched my bottle of gel.Baby oil has a move smother movement for the dopplerClearer sound also

I use everything LOL. Cocoa butter mainly. But any sort of lotion does. I was using a lotion I got with the Fergie perfume the other day. Belly must of smelt lovely aha x

Why not oil based?
I use almond oil and it works perfectly. Not to mention my belly smells wonderful.
