Hello my lovelies, I am sure that the UK Mother's Day is just as tough on all of you struggling to LTTTC as it is for me. To try and raise awareness of all us in the exclusive gang nobody wants to be part of I have come up with a facebook status regarding Mother's Day. Please feel free to share this on your walls or alter it in any way you would like;

For all of you celebrating Mother's Day this year - Hold your children close and never forget just how blessed you are. Spare a thought for those not quite as lucky as you, for those that have loved and lost and those that are struggling to start their family. Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples and yet is still thought of as taboo - Please help to raise awareness by placing this as your status if you know somebody that is still trying to realise that dream of a family.

For those that aren't overly keen on the whole 'please place this as your status' there is also;

Happy Mothers' Day to all the mums out there - hold your children close and never forget just how blessed you are. Spare a thought for those not quite as lucky as you, for those that have loved and lost and those that are struggling to start their family. Infertility affects 1 in 8 couples and yet is still thought of as taboo - This post is for all those out there who are still trying to realise that dream <3

Just a little something to proclaim that just because we aren't yet blessed with children, we are here and we do still count!

Lots of love to you all xxx

Great status, just wondering if I am brave enough to post it!

Longing if anyone is rude/nosey enough to question it and you aren't feeling brave enough to come out then just say it is a for a close friend/family member or forum friend. That way you are covered :hugs:

well, I have just posted it! Will see if anyone says anything. Thanks

I posted this to facebook. I read it to df first and asked his opinion and he said to post it! If people ask questions then so be it. I feel better for doing something positive on such a crappy day! Thatnks Fiesty xxxx

Well I have a few 'likes' now, a couple from people who I don't know thier situation fully, but I know they are married and childless, so maybe its like a secret nod. Thank you. I even have had a friend repost, so the message is getting around.

I love this idea! Mother's Day is still 2 months away for those of us in Aus, but I remember clearly how I felt last Mothers Day. I don't have any UK friends on Facebook, otherwise I'd post it now, but I will definately keep this in mind and post it when the time comes.

Hi hun thank you for sharing that, i will be putting that on facebook thank you xx

I think this is great Feisty! Nice one. I am too scared to use it though and I have a fair few of DH's friends on my FB and I know he wouldn't be happy with me putting it on. But it's a great idea! :thumbup: x

This is great! I definitely plan on posting this and keeping it up for the whole month of May!!! You should repost this thread in May to remind all of us.

Last year a woman posted something similar on FB that I "liked"...I'm looking for it now to repost for you all :)

I love the status updates. They perfectly state what we're thinking....
...unfortunately, I'm just to scared to post it. :( I have too many people on Facebook who don't know we're trying.

Hmmm...I may post something for National Infertility Week in April. I post for Epilepsy Awareness in March, why not for Infertility. Both are Taboo. :shrug:
