Im debating on whether to make my own wedding cake

I want this one but theres not a hope in hell of me paying £800 for it

If you are good at cake baking then I don't see why you couldn't Just practice first lol

You can definitely give it a whirl I wouldn't have the patience for it personally but that's just me

u knw they have a very similar cake in m&s for £200 but its white? ;-)

We r gettin our cake frm m&s, 3 tier traditional cake and im decoratin it myself as i am quite artistic but im deffo noooo baker! lol

professional wedding cakes are way over priced.

myself and my mum made my sisters cake and my mum is making mine, just practice and i am sure you will be able to do it

I don't see why not, you'll just have lots of cake to eat with all the practicing

Do you have tins bigs enough or would you need to buy them too? It could work out quite expensive if you need to buy 3 big tins, cake boards and all the practice indgrediants more than once over!!) I was gonna say M&S do a VERY similar one for much less than £800 tho hun (just incase!!)

Or you can get a 3 tier fruit cake in tesco for under £30

my MIL makes wedding cakes, her speciality is those kinda of flowers that go on the cakes, i know she would not charge near £800 for it either.

I can show her the picture if you would like and let you know if she could do it and for what price?

I just got married on October 24th adn stressed right up until the morning of about everything being this way or that and must be perfect. I made EVERYTHING, flowers, centerpieces, invitations, decorations, including the bridesmaid dresses. I dont doubt you could make a beautiful cake, but trust me, you dont want to be doing stff right up until last minute because you will get so frustrated!!

I'm having it made by my old school friends mum (another friend of mine got her cake off her and it was brill) Its costing a whopping £100. I did find a site where my uncle got his from and they wanted £800. Its a shame you don't live near me......

Can't you ask friends etc.....maybe try a facebook status upate???

Just a thought.....I only found the lady who's doing mine by chance.
