Hi ladies

Looking for a little reassurance. I'm 5"2 and a uk size 6. I'm also 39 weeks pregnant, and my hips are still very slim, they don't seem to have moved at all. I'm starting to worry that I'm not built for natural labour. I don't mind the prospect of having a c-section. I just don't want to go through hours of labour to then end up having surgery.

I've been having growth scans and have been on or above the 90th percentile all along and prediction is baby is somewhere around 7-8lbs.

Anyone else been in a similar situation and been able to give birth naturally?

Thanks in advance.

I'm 5'3-5'4 and a UK 4 and I gave birth naturally to my daughter :) Hope that helps to put your mind at ease!

Thank you for replying MummyMana. That's good to hear.

Of course you can :) I'm 5ft and around a size 8 (when not pregnant haha)

I have given birth twice naturally; my first was 7lbs 7 and my second was 9lb1

SO not even small babies! :) I don't have much in the hip department either :haha: but h ave managed just fine, i'm sure you will do great :hugs:

I'm 4 foot 10 and range between a size 00 to a size 5 not pregnant and a size 5 when I was pregnant at about 120 lbs and gave birth vaginally to both my girls ( 5lbs 5 ozs and 6lbs 9oz )

Thank you ladies. Your reassurance is just what i needed to hear. Xx

5ft 2, slim build pre babies lol, and biggest was 9-13 no probs:) You should sail through x

Yeah I'm 5 4 and a uk size 6 I have very small hips but have had three natural births you will be fine

My mum is 5ft 1 and had my brother (9lb 8) with no tearing or anything.

My friend is 4'11'' and her first baby was 10 lbs, late term labor, I think second baby was a little smaller but both were natural labor. I'm 5'2'' and first time and it's also hard to imagine anything coming out of there lol but I think our bodies figures it out. hehe

Haha, that's probably partly the problem. First labour nerves kicking in and I keep thinking how on earth am I going to get that out. It's so reassuring to hear of all the ladies that have managed without any problems. Really put my mind at ease.
