Am I worrying over nothing? Please help

Hi

We saw a Urologist just before Xmas. She told us there and then then DH problems was due to an injury and its not reversable. She has written to my specailist and asked her to refer us for IVF/ICSI. DH had a blood test done when he saw the Urologist also but have not yet got the results.

Today we got a letter from our GP saying that the Urologist has written to him asking for him to discuss her findings??? We are now very worried and thinking alsorts. Why would we need to see the GP??? What could this be for? Surely if anyone was to see us before referral it would be the FS? We are really worrying ourselves sick.

I know rationally that I may be over reacting but I cant help but think the worste.

Has any had to see there GP after see there urologist/cons/specailist????

Any help or advice welcome

Hi Tinks

The obvious thing to say is try not to panic but I know you will anyway. But try to think rationally about it. If there was a big problem then i'm sure that they wouldn't ask a GP to deliver the news. Plus they wouldn't be writing to you, they would be ringing and trying to get you in asap.

I'm sure that all is fine and that the consultant has a long waiting list and so is asking GP to give the news. The consultant will know you are being referred forward for ICSI and so they won't be seeing you again, hence involvement of GP on their behalf.

I know it must be very worrying. We once had a call back for an appointment (nothing to do with ICSI, DP had some sinus probs a while back) We were worrying and all they wanted to do was look again and eventually signed him off. Waste of time.

Honestly I would put goo0d money on everything being ok.

I hope so lolly. This happened with DH first SA results. They said we had to see Dr face to face and we told ourselves it would be nothing but it wasn't. I think thats making it worse. DH knows we had to se GP last time as it was bad news.

You are right though, if i think rationally I know that it could be something simple like he needs extra iron or something.

I bet it does, its so frustrating having to wait. I think sometimes these people don't realise the impact that waiting on something like this has on the ones going through it.

Hopefully it will be results, plain and simple, may even be good news???

Fingers crossed and try and keep positive although I know easier said than done. But am sure all will be fine xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

This happened to us and don't panic. We got called in to see the GP after the Urologist visit and it was literally to go over the same results that we had already received. Even the doctor couldn't understand why we were back there and just said that the FS would take the case from there.

So don't worry too much as fingers crossed its nothing but crossed wires.

We recieved a letter this morning with DH blood results on. They are FINE, a few things are slight high and low but nothing to worry about

The GP must just want to run the results by us or check we want to go ahead with IVF or something. We are so releived its un true, I was thinking alsorts and got about 4 hrs sleep last night

So looks like you girls were right, i will report for sure on Wednesday
