Amalgam Fillings and babies

Hi everyone!

I've heard that amalgam fillings are really bad for your health and that they are not good for the foetus either.
I'm worried because I've got LOADS of fillings and I'm TTCing...

Is it possible to have plenty of healthy children when your mouth is full of mercury?

Hi! I'm pregnant with my 5th baby and have a few amalgam fillings. I also had one put into my wisdom tooth when I was pregnant with my 3rd and all my children are happy and healthy!

I've never heard they were bad for you??!!

You might have found my question silly but anyway you made my day (or rather my evening). Thank you for your reply that's all I needed to hear

You're welcome And not a silly question! I've had quick look on google about it and it says the amount of mercury used is tiny and the risks are mainly if the fillings have to be REMOVED because of the small amounts of mercury vapour released.
