I voted for Romney. I am a hard working woman and I don't see any fairness in giving lazy people everything I have. Doesn't that only encourage them to continue being lazy and asking for everything they need?

I guess if you're poor, lazy, and want a free ride in life then vote Obama...

I'll step off my soapbox now

 Wow! :nope:

I'm literally speechless.

I mean fucking hell what a disgusting thing to say. Lord help the US if all Romney voters share those views.

They do!

I think it's been shown even in this thread that most of Romney supporters believe that.

Wow that was rude! Not being well off does not equate laziness. Perhaps they just don't agree with big tax breaks for the rich (which is a previously failed method) whilst taking help from the poor.

Ridiculous close minded comment. Way to write off people when you don't know their situations. I can see why you would vote Romney, he does the same thing.

My husband works his ass off and I'm a SAHM who worked 2 jobs since I graduated high school. I'm not on welfare and don't expect a free ride.

I'm an Obama supporter.

The way I see life is that if you want to have money and be comfortable then you go to school and work your way to a good job. Not having money is a terrible excuse because there are SO many options! Pell grants, scholarships, and student loans are available to everyone.

Giving a free ride to anyone who thinks they need it is only making our problem worse. Have you looked at the incredible amount of debt Obama has racked up in his 4 years of presidency? He's so concerned about being popular and loved by celebrities that he hasn't really done much, aside from killing Osama.

I just don't understand why it is so close...it seems like such an obvious choice to me...why would anyone actually want the republicans running the country, especially after the absolutely ridiculous, and downright offensive things they have been saying.

It looks like a LOT of people want Republicans running the country.

Not only is it completely awful and wrong to be so unsympathetic, but it is also just so stupid and uninformed. If you were to read into social mobility and class/race discrimination then maybe you would realise how stupid you sound.

It comes across as I'm alright so tough luck everyone else. :nope:

Liz, I voted for Obama. I'be been in the military for 10 years, and would be extremely surprised if you truly think you have worked harder than I have.

Luz you are the absolute epitome of white privilege.

Do you realize the incredible amount of debt that Romney is going to wrack up as he cuts education?

I think lazy people living off of welfare are definitely the minority.

Have you seen the astronomical amount of debt his predecessor did?

Its a very sad mentality, and I would hope that people who have those views never end up in a position to need that help. There's a huge difference between being lazy and using support services as the stepping stone they were intended to be.

Of course there are people going to abuse it, but that's the problem of the PERSON abusing it, not the system.

Please, ladies, let's keep it civil.

It's showing 123:153, Romney right now. Watching ABC.

I think it would remain civil if people wouldn't come in here bad mouthing Obama supporters or putting us all in a group because of who we support.

I really hope Obama gets FL and OH.

The great thing about being American is that we are entitled to our own opinions, no matter how ridiculous, rude, or closed minded someone else thinks they are. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone shared the same views? It's one thing to disagree, but to criticize and demoralize someone because of their views -no matter how different they may be from your own- is extremely inappropriate and inconsiderate. There is never any excuse to be rude.

I agree, so I just choose to ignore. :)

I am having palpitations over this, eeeek!

Remember ladies, Romney is running out of his "gimme states", and we haven't hit the West Coast yet.

But saying that people are lazy and wanting free rides isn't rude at all?
