The great thing about being American is that we are entitled to our own opinions, no matter how ridiculous, rude, or closed minded someone else thinks they are. Can you imagine what it would be like if everyone shared the same views? It's one thing to disagree, but to criticize and demoralize someone because of their views -no matter how different they may be from your own- is extremely inappropriate and inconsiderate. There is never any excuse to be rude.

You just criticized and demoralized Obama supporters. Were you trying to provide us an example?

little hypocritical, don't you think?

I don't mind people having different opinions. There are a few ladies on here who have had different opinions to mine, they were never rude when putting their opinion across.

"There is never any excuse to be rude." :winkwink:

I'm on welfare. And I worked for over 6 years straight. Had two kids. Got out of abusive marriages and currently have no job due to the economy. I can not afford loans as I can barely feed my family. Poverty or low income isn't so great and wonderful. And I am not living off the high hog. I have barely enough for anything extra ever Bc I am so broke. You (luz)are the one who is rude calling people on welfare lazy.

I think it would be fucking fantastic if nobody had those sort of ridiculous, rude, close-minded views, actually.

Luz you are the absolute epitome of white privilege.

Totally, since I grew up in an urban neighborhood with parents who were small business owners struggling to pay bills and feed their family. Somehow I managed to graduate college and make something of myself and that makes me the epitome of white privilege. Love it :)

I'm with you, sister. :hugs::hugs::hugs:

They just said Florida is split 50/50 right now :dohh:

It's alright, with Romney we won't be able to get student loans anymore. He'd rather us ask our parents for the money.

It was only 300 or so votes apart!

I believe EVERY job is important, someone has to do them all and whilst some may not deem them worthwhile or enough money etc its important to remember that without the people who do jobs like cleaning, doctors couldn't their jobs as nothing would be sterilised, without refuse collectors there would be greater illness. Every job helps to keep societies cogs churning.

As for the grants etc, this may be true but for some families as soon as the person is old enough they need to do their share and bring in a fulltime wage, so further education isn't an option! Beside loans seem scary to some people, its becoming an issue here too because the loans are being referred to as debt and people are terrified of being 40k in debt before they even get a job.

Thanks. It is quite hard here and I have no one to watch my kids so I can get an job and college is too expensive. The free daycare lists are long over two years waiting list. It isn't as easy to get up off your feet.

As far as I know- what I said was accurate. Thanks for letting me know there are exceptions to the general rule as I have so closed mindledly defined for myself. Maybe next time I'll think before I post, but probably not

Really hope that the minority of people voting for Romney have the compassion for people that you do.

I have mixed feelings as am not sure on either others policies I don't keep up much with American politics but what little I do do was I have always leaned towards republic but i feel in this election though obama, but it's seems the republicans are in the lead so far but think obamer will just get the vote,

Wow. Maybe you should think before you speak or aka type. Bc honestly I know many people who are not lazy lost their jobs or had horrible tragedies on welfare. And I know I worked my asa off before I got on it. So mull on that.

Why are you being rude? And I think that 9babies story is probably the majorities story, the system being used as a safety net. The exception are the lazy ones.

i highly doubt the majority of people on government assistance are proud or actually want to be on it. to call them all lazy is so ignorant.
