Forgive me if this is a stupid question I am new to OPKs! So yesterday I got a very faint line on my OPK test and then today its slightly darker. Its still not darker than the Control line so I know they are still 'negative' but does that mean my levels are rising so I should ovulate soon? Or is a slight line just the same as no line??

Also I know pregnancy tests can get evap lines, do OPK tests do the same? And how do you tell an evap line from a normal line

I started to get excited when I seen the lines appearing and then I started questioning it! :dohh:

I think that LH builds up, so if your line is getting darker then you might be about to ovulate :)

Some people have OPKs that gradually get darker leading up to ov.

The level of LH in your body can fluctuate from day to day as well.

hey :) i have been using opk's for a year now did you start testing about cd9?? its best to do this first couple of months at least as i vo cd10-cd11 very early didnt catch a pos opk for the first 3 months cos i was starting testing cd13.
they usually get darker when ov is close so keep testing make sure you test at the same time of day tea time is usually best but DONT use fmu.
good luck :)

I'm new to OPK testing too. Do they gradually get lighter after the positive also? And if it does, does that mean that you ovulated the day you got the +OPK??

hi mine usually go very very light the day after pos opk to almost nothing,
after having a positive opk the egg is usually releised 24_36hrs after the LH surge that is detected by the pos opk.
make sure you test at about the same time each day.
hope this was a bit of help good luck

ive been using opks for about 5 months. Mine usually have little or no line at all until the day before I get the 2 line of equal colour. THink ovulation then usually occurs 24-36hrs after. Good luck
